Nairobi to Maasai Mara

Maasai Mara National Reserve - (Complimentary airport pick-up is available for all guests arriving by flight on the morning of Day 1. The pick-up time is scheduled for 6 am from the airport to the departure point in Nairobi city.) At 8 am, guests will be collected from a hotel within Nairobi CBD and begin the journey to Maasai Mara via the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, offering a stunning view of the Rift Valley floor. Arrival at Maasai Mara is scheduled in time for lunch and check-in. At 4 pm, depart for a sunset game viewing drive in the Mara Reserve. Return to the camp for a delicious dinner, followed by a restful evening at the camp. Maasai Mara Reserve is Kenya’s most popular tourist destination, with wildlife heavily concentrated on the reserve’s western escarpment. It is considered the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. The annual wildebeest migration, involving over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November, is a spectacular phenomenon and a wonder of the world.

Full Day at Maasai Mara

Maasai Mara National Reserve - Begin the day at 7 am, spending the entire day exploring Maasai Mara in search of the Big Five. The driver, with assistance from other guides and radio communication, will navigate to various parts of Maasai Mara for optimal game viewing opportunities. Our experienced drivers will provide insights into animal traits and behaviors. Numerous resident animals graze in the park. At lunchtime, the driver will select an excellent picnic site for lunch. Guests will visit the Mara River to observe resident hippos lounging on the riverbanks. Game drives continue until 4 pm. The Mara is home to perhaps the most spectacular natural event: the great migration. This annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) is in search of water and pasture, followed closely by the savanna’s predators – lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures.

Maasai Mara to Nairobi

Maasai Mara National Reserve - Enjoy an early breakfast before checking out. Optional: Visit a local Maasai village for a cultural tour at USD 20. Learn about the Maasai community and engage with the local Maasai people. Begin the drive to Nairobi. A simple complimentary lunch will be provided at the Travellers Motel on the return journey to Nairobi. Upon arrival, guests will be dropped off at the city center or a hotel within the city center. Arrival in Nairobi is expected between 3 and 4 pm, depending on traffic.
