Kenyatta International Conference Center - This will be the next destination. The iconic 28-story building is situated along Harambee Avenue in Nairobi’s City Square. The skyscraper’s rooftop offers a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of the city center and its surroundings. Only then can one truly appreciate the beauty and intricate design it represents.
The tour will then proceed to the Nairobi viewpoint at Uhuru Park, a recreational area for ordinary Kenyans, to learn more about its historical significance to the Kenyan Nation-State.
Chronologically, the tour will continue into the Central Business District. As the group walks, the guide will share real-time stories about the history of pre-independence and post-independence Nairobi. The tour will include visits to various landmarks, such as KICC and Kipande House, among others. -
Nairobi National Museum - Begin the day with a visit to the Nairobi National Museum, located on Museum Hill, just a short distance from the city center. The museum offers a unique display of Kenya’s rich cultural and natural heritage. Admire Ahmed, the massive elephant who became a symbol of Kenya during the 1980s poaching crisis, and was placed under 24-hour guard by President Jomo Kenyatta. Explore the museum’s permanent collection, including the Hall of Kenya, ethnological exhibits like the extraordinary Kalenjin cloak made from Sykes Monkeys’ skins, and a mosaic map of Kenya made from the country’s butterflies. The next hall features the Birds of East Africa exhibit, a vast gallery with at least 900 stuffed specimens, followed by the Great Hall of Mammals. The Cradle of Humankind is highlighted by the Hominid Skull Room, an extraordinary collection of skulls described as ‘the single most important collection of early human fossils in the world’.

August 7th Memorial Park - Next, (optional tour), the tour will continue through Parliament Road, onto Harambee Avenue, and to the August 7th Memorial Park, the bomb blast site. Born out of tragedy, the August 7th Memorial Park stands as a symbol of peace and hope amidst today’s global challenges. The park is located where the former United States Embassy once stood. Here, visitors will learn and appreciate the importance of global peace as they visit the memorial museum. The museum was created to honor those who lost their lives during the tragic event on August 7th, 1998. The center also shares stories of survivors and those whose lives were forever changed by the 1998 terrorist bombing of the US embassy.
After these reflections and appreciation of peace, there will be a quick tour of downtown Nairobi to experience the daily life of ordinary Kenyans. The city tour will then continue to the beads women’s factory. -
KOBE TOUGH Beads & Leather - This pottery company creates some of the world’s most beautiful beads. Visitors will see firsthand all the stages from start to finish. It’s a unique factory as it employs single mothers from the poor neighborhood, providing them with a livelihood to support their families. It’s a women empowerment center for the community. The center was started by women who formerly worked for Kazuri Beads Factory when it closed during the pandemic. This was a relief for them as they could continue to provide for their families.

Utamaduni Craft Centre - After the exciting beads factory tour, the tour will continue to the Utamaduni Crafts Centre. The best African craft shop in Nairobi, Utamaduni is a must-visit on the way to some of the exciting venues in Nairobi’s green suburb of Karen/Langata, known for the famous writer Karen Blixen’s original farm with beautiful views of the Ngong Hills. Incorporate a visit to this unique house of crafts on the day of your visit to Nairobi.
The shop, a converted Kikuyu house with 18 shops, is a treasure trove of African crafts, antiques, and art, with friendly staff to assist and help pack or ship if needed.
After shopping, stop and have refreshments in the large beautiful garden restaurant, and if you are a bird watcher, the many exotic birds will keep you entertained.

Maasai Market Collections Karen - After lunch (optional), the tour will proceed to experience the rich cultural heritage of Kenya. Enjoy the vibrant culture from the 53 ethnic communities in Kenya through traditional folklore dances and an informative session on the real-life experiences of the people. Daily performances include a selection of more than 30 traditional dances from different ethnic groups in Kenya, with one of the most impressive performances being the Samburu and Maasai warriors.
