- Karen Blixen Museum - The Karen Blixen Museum was once the centerpiece of a farm at the base of the Ngong Hills, owned by Danish author Karen Blixen and her Swedish husband, Baron Bror von Blixen Fincke. Situated 10km from the city center, the museum reflects a different era in Kenya’s history. The farmhouse gained international recognition with the release of the Oscar-winning film ‘Out of Africa,’ based on Karen’s autobiography of the same name.
- Giraffe Centre - The Giraffe Centre welcomes visitors from 9 AM to 5 PM, every day of the week. Feeding and tours are available throughout these hours. The entry fees support our conservation education initiatives.
- Sheldrick Wildlife Trust - The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Nursery in Nairobi National Park offers a sanctuary for orphaned baby elephants rescued by the DSWT. The nursery is the initial stage in the hand-rearing and development of milk-dependent baby elephants. Once they reach 2-3 years of age, they transition to one of the DSWT’s Reintegration Centres in Tsavo East National Park, where they will eventually return to the wild.
- Nairobi National Park - “The park in the city.” Just a short drive from Nairobi’s central business district lies Nairobi National Park. Expansive grass plains and a backdrop of city skyscrapers, along with scattered acacia bush, provide a habitat for a wide range of wildlife, including the endangered black rhino, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes, and a rich birdlife with over 400 species recorded. Visitors can enjoy the park’s picnic sites, three campsites, and walking trails.
