Arrival in Nairobi/Meet & Greet, and Transfer to Masai Mara

Masai Mara National Reserve - Upon arriving in Nairobi, the tour guide/driver will greet you and transport you to Masai Mara. The journey to Masai Mara takes approximately 5 hours.

In Masai Mara, enjoy an afternoon filled with comprehensive game drives. During the peak season of the Great Wildebeest Migration, expect to see wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and other herbivores. The national reserve is renowned for the Big Five (lions, leopards, elephants, rhinoceroses, and buffaloes), so anticipate spotting these magnificent animals and more during your thrilling safari adventure in a vehicle equipped with a pop-up window for panoramic views.

Great Rift Valley - En route to Masai Mara, there will be a stop at the famous Great Rift Valley Escarpment point. Here, you can witness the results of ancient volcanic activity that formed the Great Rift Valley. From the escarpment point, enjoy panoramic views of the landscapes, settlements, and agricultural lands.

You will also encounter locals and curio shops offering beadwork and other traditional products crafted from locally sourced materials, providing a glimpse into the Masai culture.

Full Day to Explore Masai Mara

Masai Mara National Reserve - Spend a full day exploring Masai Mara. If desired, embark on an early morning game drive before breakfast, then return to the hotel for breakfast. Afterward, enjoy comprehensive game drives throughout the day, with breaks to return to the hotel for lunch, and conclude the day with dinner at the hotel.

Take the opportunity to track and observe the Big Five (lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinoceroses) and other animals, including migratory wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and other herbivores during the peak migration season (July-October). Capture panoramic views and take photos and videos from the safari vehicle.

Bird enthusiasts will also have the chance to follow and photograph various bird species.

Overnight stay at a Mara camp.

Masai Mara National Reserve - In the evening, visit a Masai village. Traditional Masai dancers will welcome you with their cultural dance as you enter the village.

Engage with the locals, the Masai people, and learn about their culture. Observe their evening routines, such as milking and tending to their livestock (primarily cows). The Masai are pastoralists. Witness their beadwork craftsmanship, creating items like necklaces, bracelets, and baskets.

Final Day in Masai Mara and Return to Nairobi

Masai Mara National Reserve - Opt for an early morning game drive before breakfast if there are specific animals or birds you wish to observe. Then, return to the hotel for breakfast. You may also choose to revisit the Masai village to experience the locals’ morning routines before or after checking out of the hotel. Alternatively, relax at the hotel, enjoy breakfast, and prepare for the journey back to Nairobi.

Later, embark on a road trip back to Nairobi.

Narok - On the return journey to Nairobi, stop in Narok, a small town inhabited by the Masai people.

Accompanied by the driver/tour leader, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, where you can savor the famous ‘Mbuzi choma,’ or roasted goat meat, served with maize meal, known locally as ‘Ugali,’ and traditional vegetables or other accompaniments.

After lunch, continue the journey.
