Subpar Guide Experience - Things I appreciated about the tour: - Aron was a quick responder and accommodating on plans. We met someone in our rhino group who owned a children’s home nearby, and Aron took me to visit later that day. - Brought me to my hostel in Entebbe, which included a ferry ride. They were patient with the wait and made sure I got home with all my luggage. - Chimp trekking and rhino sanctuary were cool Things I did not like/feedback: - Aron was not a chatty guide at all. He did not give information on the wildlife or make an effort to talk with me—it was pretty much silence for the whole two days of the tour, and I definitely got lonely. I was asked one question the whole two days, and I tried to strike up conversations, but they died pretty quickly. Would not recommend for a solo or private tour if you’re looking for informative, talkative companionship. - Too expensive for what it was. They do give luxury-level accommodation, but the rhino tour is only 1hr and the chimp trek is 2hrs. The day was not filled at all, which I expected, given the price point. It seems like they purposely leave open space because they want to sell the extra $300 waterfall viewing, which I was annoyed about because I was already paying so much. - Itinerary included pottery, which I thought would be a pottery class (that's what other travelers said they did, so I should have clarified, but it turned out to just be viewing a shop)—but all that didn't matter because they canceled the pottery part of the trip without telling me anyway. I had to ask in order to find out that we canceled that part, it was not voluntarily told to me. - We finished a day early because the itinerary was so open/unfilled, so I got a slight refund. Not at all close to what I should have gotten though, considering we made a 3-day trip into a 2-day trip because of the lack of things to do. In fact, the second day was just driving back, and I ended up being driven around Kampala running errands with them—which was a waste of time for me. In my mind, this really was just a half day worth of activities and mostly driving. When I heard the price of the hotel and pottery and gas, it made me wonder where all the remaining cost of the tour was going to. - Took a bunch of pictures of me without my permission. Even at the children’s home, the owner told him to ask for permission before snapping shots.
