Nairobi to Mt Longonot

Viewpoint - A scheduled stop will be made at the viewpoint on the escarpment’s side to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Rift Valley floor from a bird’s eye perspective. From this elevated spot, you can see the volcanic Mt Suswa and Mt Longonot, with their lush craters and the rolling green Rift Valley floor.

Mount Longonot National Park - 6:00 am: Depart Nairobi for Mt Longonot National Park, traveling through the lush green highlands of Kikuyu and then along the eastern escarpment of the Rift Valley system.
6:30 am: – Great Rift Valley Viewpoint
7:00 am: – Mt Longonot National Park

Descend into the Rift Valley and arrive at Mt Longonot National Park for a hike up to the crater. The hike requires moderate physical fitness, and you will ascend through the gullies that mark the mountain’s sides. Rest stops are available at designated points along the trek. Upon reaching the crater’s rim, you can gaze into the magnificent crater below. If you have the energy, you can walk around the crater’s rim.

Lake Naivasha - 12:00 pm: – Mt. Longonot – Lake Naivasha
Descend from Longonot Mountain to the park headquarters. Relax for a while before driving to Lake Naivasha.
1:00 pm: – Lunch at Marina Camp
Arrive at Marina Camp and enjoy a delicious lunch at their lakeside restaurant while admiring the lake’s beauty and the birds flying by.
2:30 pm: – Boat Ride in Lake Naivasha
Embark on an hour-long boat ride on this stunning Rift Valley lake. The boat ride will allow you to see the hundreds of birds in the lake, including the diving African fish eagle, which catches fish with remarkable precision. You will also visit the hippo pool to observe the hippos swimming and vocalizing in the water, opening their mouths to over 180 degrees.
4:00 pm: – Lake Naivasha – Hotel Taphe Naivasha.
Depart Lake Naivasha and drive to Hotel Taphe/Dove Nest Lodge.

Lake Naivasha to Hell’s Gate National Park

Hell’s Gate National Park - Enjoy breakfast and prepare to leave the hotel at 8 am for Hell’s Gate with a picnic lunch.
Arrive at Hell’s Gate entrance around 8:30 am. Begin the biking tour at Hell’s Gate for 2 hours.
11 am – Explore the gorges inside the park. Gorges are narrow land depressions where you can walk beneath. Some areas have formed caves you can walk through. This will take 1 hour.
1 pm – Conclude the tours and return the bikes at the gate.
1 pm – Enjoy a picnic lunch.
2 pm – Conclude all activities and begin the drive back to Nairobi.
Arrive by 4 pm and be dropped off at your hotel or residence within Nairobi.
