Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Equator Marker - Depart Nairobi at 6:30 am and enjoy a 2.5-hour drive to Nanyuki town, arriving at 9 am. Here, take a break at the equator crossing, an imaginary line that divides the Earth into the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Capture a memorable photo at the large equator sign. Continue for another 15 minutes to reach the entrance gate.
On a clear day, you may also catch a glimpse of Mount Kenya from this point.
Ol Pejeta Conservancy - Begin the first game drive, lasting 3.5 hours, exploring the northern side of the expansive conservancy to see chimpanzees and other wildlife. Arrive at Serena Sweetwaters Lodge by 1 pm, where you can observe animals visiting the watering hole in front of the lodge while photographing the resident monkeys. Enjoy lunch and embark on an afternoon game drive en route back to Nanyuki.
Drive to the park’s eastern side to visit Baraka, a blind rhino, and see the three Northern white rhinos roaming freely in their large enclosure. Conclude the game drive at 4 pm and start the journey back to Nanyuki.
Nanyuki to Samburu National Reserve
Samburu National Reserve - After breakfast, depart Nanyuki for Samburu.
Upon check-in and lunch, proceed with an afternoon game drive in the reserve.
Samburu is renowned for its truly wild semi-arid landscape and the high concentration of wildlife and birdlife. Along with the neighboring Shaba and Buffalo Springs national reserves, Samburu is known for hosting rare Northern-Kenya animal species (Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx, and Somali Ostrich) not found in other popular parks and reserves in Kenya. It is also home to all the African big cats (lion, cheetah, and leopard), as well as other big game including elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, hippos, impalas, waterbucks, and many more.
Samburu National Reserve to Nairobi
Samburu National Reserve - Enjoy an early breakfast, then check out and take a short game drive in the reserve before driving back to Nairobi. Drop-off will be at your hotel or the airport, with lunch at a transit stop along the way.
