We meet and begin kayaking in the small seaside town of Jenner. After a brief safety talk and paddling instruction, we hit the water and explore the beautiful Russian River where it joins the Pacific Ocean. Your guide will enthusiastically discuss the area’s history, wildlife, landscape, seasons, and whatever else you can possibly think of. Questions are highly appreciated and looked forward to by our staff. The paddling is gentle and we keep our eyes open for a variety of wildlife including river otters, pelicans, osprey, and curious harbor seals. We will land on the beach and check out the ocean before getting back in the boats and heading back to Jenner. Your guide can offer great recommendations for other beaches and options in the area for you to continue your day of adventure. All gear used by guests is sanitized by our staff after every tour.

Join us on a thrilling Sonoma Coast Kayak Tour that whisks you off to the breathtaking Pacific Ocean shores to witness the convergence of the Russian River with the sea. This splendid day on the water features plenty of fauna including birds, seals, possible whale sightings and serene river relaxation. The tour, lasting around 2.5 hours, involves river paddling and leisurely beach strolls with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean.
- Subject to favorable weather conditions. If canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund.
- Please bring water shoes or sandals.
- We will get wet. Bring clothes you won’t mind getting wet and consider bringing a change of clothes.
- The weather at the coast can change quickly. Please bring an extra layer in case it is a bit chilly. It’s better to have more clothes than you need rather than wish you had an extra layer.
- Due to Covid-19 we are unable to supply food or beverages. If you would like lunch during or after your tour please feel free to bring something to enjoy or your guide can recommend some of our fantastic local cafes or restaurants.

Your guide will meet you at the top of the boat ramp in front of the Sonoma Coast Visitor's Center in Jenner. There is very limited cell service at the meeting location and twisty roads to get out there so please plug in driving directions ahead of time to best estimate driving times.

Great paddle!! - This was the best day yet.. the adventures keep coming! We selected this tour because of the reviews and so we were not surprised by the service and skill of our guide Erik. But, he still exceeded my expectations, I was very impressed with his serious, yet care-free calmness! Thanks for the kind words and history lessons! So far your recommendations have been spot on!

Our guide Erik rocks! Nature and learning galore. - This scenic tour along the mouth of the Russian River surpassed any expectations that we had. Our kind and knowledgeable guide Erik paced the kayak tour well and shared such valuable information about the West County area. Ranging from wildlife to history, he openly shared with us his love for this gem of coastal California. We were able to explore and observe the beautiful natural offerings while learning about all of the revitalization in the area. We wish that we could have spent hours out there on the water watching the harbor seals and listening to the birds. Would recommend to anyone who loves an adventure and learning!

Great tour for adults and kids alike! - This was an absolutely incredible tour - our guide was friendly, flexible and an expert on the coastal estuary. He had my kids completely captivated and looking at the area in a whole new way. We saw so much wildlife! It was an absolute blast.

This was a great tour,... - This was a great tour, Eric had everything organized and he really gave us a different experience in Sonoma county. He is super knowledgeable about the region, the plants and its animals and is just a fun person to be around. The Russian River is so nice, very user friendly even to non experienced kayakers. Hope to bring the kids there soon to experience it.

Incredible fun tour of Russian River for kids and adults - Erik was an absolutely incredible guide. He crafted the perfect itinerary for us on the spot to make sure that everyone - aged 9 to 60 - had a fantastic time. He was the perfect combination of flexible and knowledgeable!!

Great day on the river! - Erik is super knowledgeable about the river and the community and its history. We greatly enjoyed our time on the river and loved the experience.
We had to go more inland because of high winds on the coast but going inland let us see more wildlife.
My daughter, who is 4, even got to get on the action with her own paddle.
Would highly recommend this tour to anyone- especially families with kids.

The best kayaking - This was the BEST experience we could hope for on a kayaking trip. Easy parking and launch site. Our guide Eric was fun and knowledgeable. We saw so much wildlife and the fog lifted just as we started out-the perfect day!

Wonderful Experience - We had such a fantastic time paddling with Erik—this experience was the perfect combination of peaceful, fun, and awe-inspiring. From the moment we set out on the river, he created a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that made it easy to just enjoy the moment and connect with nature.
One of the things I appreciated most was how he took care of capturing great photos throughout the paddle. It allowed us to stay fully present and soak in the beauty around us without worrying about documenting the day—such a thoughtful touch!
What really made the experience special was Erik himself. He grew up in Jenner, so he knows the area inside and out and shares its history and stories with such ease and passion. His knowledge of the river, the wildlife, and the surrounding area added so much depth to the experience.
And the wildlife! We were lucky enough to witness an incredible bird moment—a bald eagle knocking a fish out of an osprey’s talons right over the river. It was like watching a live nature documentary!
If you're looking for a memorable and meaningful way to explore the Russian River, this experience is an absolute gem. Highly recommend!

Erik is passionate and knowledgeable!! - Two other groups canceled and Erik honored our reservation that turned into a private tour. He is a guide with integrity and kindness. In addition, he provided recommendations for the remainder of our stay! Do not pass up an opportunity to learn more about this beautiful area and experience a relaxing two hours. Book it!!
