Great Tour - Ada was probably the best guide I've ever had. There wasn't a question I asked that she couldn't provide a detailed answer for. If I return to Kyoto, I hope she is available to be my guide.

Brilliant tour, with hugely knowledgable guide with excellent English. - Brilliant tour, Ken was hugely knowledgable about all the sites we visited (Horyuji, Toshodaiji Temple, Nara Palace Site Historical Park and Todaiji). He even gave us an A4 handout explaining the history of Japan which explained where Nara fitted into the history. He further could all the history to events outside Japan, completely fascinating. I would highly recommend to any history lovers! He had also planned our travel meticulously, with trains, buses and walking timed to perfection so we managed to see all four sites I had requested.

Knowledgeable and friendly guide, visited tons of fun spots - Rye, our guide, is very courteous and knowledgeable. She fit in lots of places for us, despite the weather was challenging. She adjusted the pace to our needs and knows many local spots. We had a fulfilling day thanks to Rye. You should try it!

A remarkable day. - We spent a remarkable day with Yuka in Nara. She’s lovely – warm, patient, generous. She was curious about us and our interests. She recommended wonderful venues and authentic experiences. We learned new things about Japanese dynasties, deities and everyday life. We discovered new things about ourselves. It was a wonderful day and very much worth it.

This was a great... - This was a great experience. Junichi was a great guide through Nara. He was super knowledgeable about the temples and area and you could tell he was super proud of his town. He also took us to a great little noodle house that was out of the way but was so good! I am super happy about this experience and I recommend him as there were so many huge lines that we skipped though thank to the experience.

Rich history and beautiful scenery - Wonderful tour with Junichi. We had a party of 6, with three generations including my 82 yr old dad and my kids (5 and 9). Junichi was accomodating, friendly, funny and informative. We learned so much about Shinto and Japanese Buddhism. Nara is a beautiful place with a rich history. If we had more time, we would have liked to stay for several days. Thank you, Junichi for a great day.

Not worth it; we wish we'd have explored on our own - Our guide Rie unfortunately wasn't the best. She was prompt and friendly, though we expected a guide who would have spent more time with us in each of the sites explaining things and who would have better matched our pace. We felt hurried through parts of the tour. She took us to places that were not on our itinerary - which were interesting and that we wouldn't have visited on our own, but also cut into our time for the rest of the day. I remember her hurrying us through the first stop (not originally on the itinerary) to make the bus, her waiting for us at the exit of one of the gardens (where we expected her to be with us and share information as we waked through), and not being prepared for how much walking we'd do at the end of the tour. We were prepared to walk a lot, however had we known just how long the walk would be at the end of the day we'd have opted to take a cab. In hindsight, this tour did not provide the value we expected and we probably would have been better off exploring the town and sites on our own.
