Our journey begins at the rooftop of the Nara Prefectural Government Office, offering a breathtaking view! From this vantage point, the guide will introduce you to Todaiji, Kasuga-taisha, and Nara Park, setting the perfect tone for the day ahead.
We then proceed on foot to the Todaiji Temple, dating back to the 8th century, which houses Japan’s largest seated Buddha. Its grandeur is sure to leave you in awe! Following the temple visit, we continue to the Kasuga-Taisha Shrine, where sacred deer roam freely. As we stroll through Nara Park, we encounter over 1,200 deer along our path.
Our final destination is Naramachi, an old merchant town rich in traditional Edo-period architecture, where we have the opportunity to explore historic houses.
By the end of the day, you will have gained a deeper understanding of Japanese history, spanning the Nara Period (8th century) and the Edo Period (17th-19th century).
