Nairobi to Masai Mara

Masai Mara National Reserve - Embark on a Masai Mara Jeep Safari as you are picked up from your hotel, residence, or Nairobi Airport. Travel in a private 4×4 jeep to the renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. The landscape becomes increasingly dramatic as you approach the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley.

There will be a stop along the way to refresh and admire the stunning features of the escarpment. Continue into the valley, exploring the picturesque Masai land and possibly spotting the vibrant herders as you near the reserve.

Arrival at the Masai Mara is expected around midday, where you will settle into your chosen accommodation.

In the evening, unwind at the hotel or visit a nearby Masai Village for a cultural experience. Alternatively, opt for a 2-hour safari drive in the park. This park is renowned for its diverse wildlife, with both large and small predators and grazers inhabiting the expansive hills and savanna. Return for dinner and an overnight stay.

Masai Mara Full Day

Masai Mara National Reserve - Start the day early to witness the park’s rich wildlife, known to be the densest in the region.

Enjoy a day of unlimited game drives across the golden plains, adorned with striking acacia trees.

A picnic lunch will be provided. Keep an eye out for Africa’s Big Five - lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. Birdlife is also plentiful, and if visiting during the Great Bird Migration (July - October), prepare to witness the largest animal movement on Earth.

The migratory animals, primarily wildebeest and zebra, enter the park in large numbers along the Mara River, where hippos and crocodiles await. The potential for dramatic encounters is high as the herds invade in search of fresh grass while predators lie in wait.

Enhance your Masai Mara experience with an optional visit to a local village, where you can meet the Maasai people and experience their lifestyle firsthand.

Masai Mara to Nairobi

Nairobi - On the final day of the safari, enjoy a healthy breakfast before checking out around 08:30 AM to begin the journey back to Nairobi.

By now, you should have checked off many animal sightings, but there’s always room for more. While zebras and gazelles are common, keep an eye out for cheetahs, jackals, and hyenas. Enjoy one last drive through the park as you head back to Nairobi.

A lunch break will be taken during the drive back to the city. Arrival in Nairobi is expected in the late afternoon, with drop-off at your hotel, residence, or the airport. You may also choose to continue to the Kenyan coast at Mombasa or the island of Zanzibar.
