• Mt. Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station - Located 2300 meters above sea level, the Mt. Fuji 5th Station offers a close view of Mt. Fuji, weather permitting. It features numerous souvenir shops for a delightful shopping experience. This is an ideal starting point for climbers aiming to reach the summit of Mt. Fuji. The climbing season runs from July 14 to September 10.

  Note: During the hiking season, access to the 5th Station is restricted. Visitors must take a shuttle bus, costing 3000¥ per person, which takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes for a round trip.

• Lake Kawaguchiko - Lake Kawaguchiko is a stunning lake and serves as the gateway to the Fuji Five Lakes area. Visitors can enjoy a ship cruise or take a ropeway cable car to Kachi Kachi Mountain. On clear days, it offers a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji.

• Oshino Hakkai - Known as the Eight Seas of Oshino, Oshino Hakkai consists of eight ponds in the Fuji Five Lakes area, on the site of a former sixth lake that dried up centuries ago. The ponds are fed by snowmelt from Mount Fuji, filtered through volcanic rock over decades, resulting in crystal-clear, mineral-rich waters.

• Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Jinja Shrine - This shrine is believed to have originated in 100 A.D. with a small shrine built to commemorate Prince Yamato Takeru-no Mikoto’s visit. In 788, an altar was established to enshrine the Sengen God, aiming to prevent Mt. Fuji’s eruptions.

  Mt. Fuji has been revered since ancient times, and with the rise of mountain worship, it became a site for ascetic training. The shrine became a focal point for Mt. Fuji worship, especially during the Edo era when “Fuji-ko” worship gained popularity. In 2013, it was designated as part of the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Site.

• Oishi Park - Situated on the north shore of Kawaguchiko, Oishi Park offers a breathtaking view of the lake and Mt. Fuji. The lakeside promenade blooms with various flowers throughout the seasons. On sunny days, photographers flock to capture the stunning scenery of Mt. Fuji, the lake, and the flowers. The park features a large free parking area and is a popular rest stop for cyclists and motorcyclists.

  The park’s charm lies in its seasonal floral displays, expansive lake views, and the majestic sight of Mt. Fuji. A leisurely stroll along the flower-lined promenade with views of Mt. Fuji is sure to bring tranquility.

• Arakurayama Sengen Park - This park begins at the base of Mt. Arakurayama and extends up the mountain. At the top of a 398-step hike, an observation deck offers panoramic views of Fujiyoshida City and the towering Mt. Fuji. While the spring sakura (cherry blossom) season is ideal for capturing iconic images of Mt. Fuji, cherry blossoms, and the five-storied pagoda, the park is enjoyable year-round with its ever-changing seasonal views.

• Gotemba Premium Outlets - Located in Gotemba, Shizuoka, Japan, near Mount Fuji, the Gotemba Premium Outlets is an outlet mall that opened on July 13, 2000. It features over 200 stores and is managed by Mitsubishi Estate Simon Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Mitsubishi Estate and Simon Property Group.

• Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba - Iyashi no Sato (いやしの里) is situated on the site of a former farming village on Lake Saiko’s western shores. Destroyed by a landslide during a 1966 typhoon, the village was reconstructed 40 years later as an open-air museum and traditional craft village. Visitors can explore the culture and purchase local handicrafts.

  The village comprises over twenty houses converted into shops, restaurants, museums, and galleries. Each shop specializes in a traditional craft, such as pottery, incense, or weaving. Some shops offer hands-on workshops, like making incense bags or owl figurines. Activities cost between 600-1100 yen and do not require advance reservations.
