• Mt. Fuji 5th Station - This is the final point on Mt. Fuji accessible by car. Be mindful of weather conditions. During the hiking season, access to the 5th station is restricted, and a shuttle bus is required, costing 2100¥ per person.
• Arakurayama Sengen Park - A renowned location offering breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji, cherry blossoms, and the iconic crimson pagoda.
• Lake Kawaguchiko - The second largest lake in the Mt. Fuji area, following Lake Yamanaka. Mt. Fuji can be admired from the Kachi Kachi ropeway or a cruise on Lake Kawaguchi.
• Oishi Park - Situated on the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchi, Oishi Park provides stunning views of Mt. Fuji and the lake. The park features a 350-meter walking path adorned with various flowers. From early April to late May, moss phlox flowers create a pink carpet, while from late June to late July, vibrant lavender blooms. In mid to late October, the kokia shrubs display their striking red autumn hues. The contrast between the flowers and Mt. Fuji is truly remarkable. The park also hosts the Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center, where visitors can make fruit jam and enjoy an all-you-can-eat cherry and blueberry picking course. • Oshino Hakkai - Located at the base of Mount Fuji, Oshino Hakkai is a serene village celebrated for its pure spring water ponds, formed by the mountain’s melting snow filtering through the earth for over 80 years. As you explore the village, you’ll discover eight crystal-clear ponds, each with its own unique charm. • Owaku-dani Valley - Observing the vast, barren landscape, you’ll notice a white plume of smoke rising from the mountain’s surface. Owakudani is a prominent viewpoint in Hakone, where visitors can witness intense volcanic activity up close. This area was formed by a phreatic eruption and pyroclastic flow nearly 3000 years ago. The distinctive sulfur smell earned it the historical name Jigokudani (Hell Valley). A local specialty is the “black eggs,” whose shells turn black due to a chemical reaction with geothermal energy and volcanic gas.
