Fort Charlotte is the largest, spanning approximately 100 acres. It was built on a hill at the far west end of the harbor, offering a stunning view of Paradise Island, Nassau, and the harbor.
The fort still features a moat, dungeons, underground passageways, and 42 cannons, which have never been used in combat.
Tours are available daily, but on Wednesdays and Fridays, starting at 11:30 a.m., a living historical scene allows visitors to step back in time and experience daily life in 18th-century Nassau. It includes characters in period costumes demonstrating basket weaving techniques, kitchen utensils from over 250 years ago, and fruits sold at the market. The experience concludes with the firing of the cannon at noon.
