- Óbidos Village - A quintessential Portuguese fortified town, Óbidos is one of the most scenic spots in Portugal. It exudes Portuguese charm with its narrow cobbled streets, charming houses, and the grand medieval castle that once protected the area.
- Fátima - The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima (Santuário de Fátima) ranks among the largest Catholic pilgrimage sites globally, drawing 4 to 5 million visitors annually. Between May 13 and October 13, 1917, three shepherd children reportedly witnessed six apparitions of the Virgin Mary, who shared messages and predictions about the future. During the final apparition, approximately 50,000 people observed the sun moving in the sky in a manner that defied cosmological laws.
The sanctuary includes the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary (Basílica de Nossa Senhora do Rosário), a Neo-Baroque limestone church constructed between 1928 and 1953. The basilica features a 65-meter-high bell tower and a large statue of Our Lady of Fátima above its main entrance.
Inside, there are 15 altars representing the 15 Mysteries of The Rosary, and an organ with about 12,000 pipes. The basilica’s stained glass windows depict the apparitions and related events. Statues of four saints associated with the rosary are positioned at the church’s four corners. The Chapel of the Apparitions, part of the basilica complex, is the burial site of the three shepherd children, Lucia dos Santos, and Jacinta and Francisco Marto, who passed away in 1919, 1920, and 2005, respectively.
