Negombo - AYUBOWAN! Welcome to Sri Lanka, a land like no other, for 8 days of exploration, showcasing the best of ancient history and culture, lush green tea estates and waterfalls, amazing wildlife, and beautiful golden sandy beaches. Upon arrival at Colombo CMB airport, you will meet your tour leader and be transferred to your hotel (pick-up is available from any hotel in Colombo or Negombo as well). The first stop is the coastal town of Negombo, renowned as Sri Lanka’s most popular beach, famous for its golden sands, food, and fun.
DAY PLAN:
For the first day, no activities are planned, allowing you to arrive in Sri Lanka at your convenience. If your flight arrives early, relax on the beach or by the pool at your cozy hotel. In the evening, take a stroll along the seashore, enjoying the beautiful sunset and the pleasant beachside atmosphere.

CULTURAL VILLAGE TOUR / SIGIRIYA FORTRESS / PIDURANGALA

Dambulla - After a delicious breakfast with a hot cup of Sri Lankan tea or coffee, embark on a wonderful journey across the stunning Sri Lankan countryside towards Dambulla city, the central point of the island’s cultural triangle.
DAY PLAN:
On the way to Dambulla, stop at the Rehabilitation Center and take the opportunity to feed the animals. Upon arrival in Dambulla, enjoy a cultural village tour, starting with a Bullock Cart ride, one of Sri Lanka’s most ancient transportation systems, still used in some villages. The tour also includes a canoeing boat ride across the lake and a TukTuk ride before reaching a farmer’s house to experience typical Sri Lankan countryside hospitality. In the evening, visit Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE) to witness and capture the beautiful sunset scenery from the summit.

Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - King Kasyapa (477 – 495 BC) built his palace atop this rock and adorned its sides with colorful frescoes. It is known as one of the wonders of the world due to its amazing architecture and technology.

GOLDEN CAVE TEMPLE / HISTORIC KANDY / CULTURAL SHOW

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - In the morning, proceed towards Kandy, the last Sinhalese kingdom, set on a plateau surrounded by mountains, home to tea plantations and biodiverse rainforests. Kandy is also famous for its sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth Relic.
DAY PLAN:
Early morning, join the Pidurangala Rock hike to witness and photograph the sunrise. After breakfast, visit the Royal Cave Temple and the Golden Buddha Statue. Dambulla has the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 meters over the surrounding plains and houses 5 cave temples with unique and significant historical drawings. In the afternoon, visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE) and Kandy viewpoint. In the evening, enjoy a walk around Kandy’s city center, including a tour of the Central Market, before attending a cultural dance show inspired by Sri Lankan arts, traditional dance, and cultural heritage.

ROYAL BOTANICAL GARDEN / HILL COUNTRY TEA PLANTATIONS

Victoria Park of Nuwara Eliya - After breakfast, enjoy a journey through lush green tea plantations and waterfalls towards Sri Lanka’s tea region of Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as “Little England” due to its British colonial architecture, such as the Hill Club and the Town Post Office.
DAY PLAN:
In the morning, visit the Museum to learn more about the world-renowned Sri Lankan gems and jewelry in a gem museum tour. Then, visit the Peradeniya Royal Garden, one of the best botanical gardens in Asia. En route to Nuwara Eliya, stop at a tea plantation to observe the rich tradition of processing the prestigious Ceylon tea. End your factory visit with a perfectly blended cup of tea. In the afternoon, explore Nuwara Eliya city center and the fruit and vegetable market on your own.

TRAIN JOURNEY INTO THE MOUNTAINS / ELLA

Ella Rock - DAY PLAN:
In the morning, enjoy a spectacular train journey from Nanu-Oya station to Ella village (Train tickets will be arranged at the station / Class category is subject to availability). It is known as one of the most picturesque hill country train journeys in the world. Ella is a favorite hill country village due to its nature-friendly location. Ravana waterfall and Nine Arch Bridge are the most popular sightseeing attractions in Ella.

ELLA / WILDLIFE GAME DRIVE

Mirissa Beach - After a fantastic journey through coconut and tea estates, mountains, and waterfalls, arrive at the world-famous southern beachside of Sri Lanka. Mirissa/Unawatuna is a delightful sandy beach that was once a well-kept secret, now home to a few restaurants and pubs. It features white sands and coconut palms growing right from the sea’s edge, resembling a postcard-perfect tropical beach.
DAY PLAN:
En route to Mirissa, stop at Hummanaya Natural blowhole, caused when seawater rushes through a submerged cavern and is pushed upwards. It is considered the second largest blowhole in the world. Upon arrival at your hotel, relax on the beach with a cocktail or a chilled beer under a palm tree. Optional activities include Jet Ski, Banana & Tube Boating, Diving, Snorkeling, Surfing, Fishing & Deep sea fishing.

WHALE WATCHING / GALLE FORT / TURTLE HATCHERY

Galle Fort - After breakfast, head to Galle, a city known for its Fort, where classic Dutch and British architecture meets a tropical setting.
DAY PLAN:
Early in the morning, relax on the beautiful golden sandy beach and embark on a boat ride to capture blue whales and dolphins. Upon arrival in Galle, walk through Galle Fort, listening to the creaks of wooden saloon doors and observing how European architecture mingles with South Asian traditions, attracting cultural enthusiasts globally. The historical Galle Lighthouse stands proudly on the fort’s southeast tip. In the afternoon, visit a turtle hatchery center where baby turtles learn to swim and injured adults are rehabilitated back into the ocean. Experience an amazing boat ride on the “Madu” river through the mangroves. Along the Madu river, visit a fish farm and try Sri Lankan fish therapy if interested.

Colombo City Centre - After breakfast, visit Sri Lanka’s capital city of Colombo, with a history dating back to the fifth century. Even in ancient times, it was an important port city in the East-West sea trade. Today, it is a bustling modern town with a unique atmosphere.
