As I embarked on the Round Tour of Sri Lanka from the bustling city of Negombo, I was filled with anticipation. The promise of exploring Sri Lanka’s rich heritage through a comfortable bus journey was enticing. Having grown up in a multicultural household, I have always been drawn to the diverse cultures of Asia, and Sri Lanka was no exception.

The natural harbor of Trincomalee was a sight to behold, with its strategic significance and historical importance. The rhythmic chants and the scent of incense filled the air as I joined the pilgrims in paying homage to this revered site. The Royal Botanical Gardens, with its diverse flora and meticulously landscaped grounds, was a testament to Sri Lanka’s natural beauty.

As we journeyed to the hill country of Nuwara Eliya, the lush tea plantations and mist-covered hills created a picturesque landscape. Visiting the Bluefield Tea Gardens, I gained insight into the art of tea production, a tradition that has shaped Sri Lanka’s identity for centuries.

Reflecting on my journey, I was grateful for the opportunity to immerse myself in Sri Lanka’s rich heritage and vibrant culture.
