- Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Sigiriya rock fortress is the most visited tourist attraction in Sri Lanka. It is sometimes known as the Sigiriya Lion Rock, after its original name “Sinha-Giri”. The name comes from its palace entrance through a massive brick sculpture of a lion head. Only the paws of this sculpture remain at the foot of the rock today. Sigiriya rock fortress is a fifth-century fortified palace complex, which was used by King Kassapa (477CE-493CE). The Sigiriya rock abruptly rises 600 feet high from the surrounding plains. The ruins of King Kassapa’s royal palace are scattered on the peak rock plateau. The hike to the top is via 1200 steps. Some of them were constructed at the time of King Kassapa. The foothills and immediate surroundings of the Sigiriya rock were once an elaborate royal pleasure garden. The archaeological value of the site is immeasurable, perhaps unsurpassed in South Asia.
- Dambulla Royal Cave Temple - Dambulla golden rock cave temple was home to thousands of meditating monks since its monastic beginnings in the first century BCE. Today the same cave temple hosts a massive collection of Buddhist murals and sculptures belonging to a pan-Asian artistic tradition. The cave temple was abandoned at regular intervals since its humble beginnings. Yet the royals and Buddhist elite kept renovating it to appease countless faithful pilgrims.

Must do swamp, canal and lagoon boat adventure - From pushing off with our 'captain' through the canals we were treated to amazing mangroves, bird life, reptiles and jumping fish.
We photographed a rarely seen white Kingfisher, white bellied sea eagle and a large purple heron.
We were treated to fresh watermelon and king coconut.
Watching a group of monkeys enjoy their bananas was comical.

Observing the tranquility of nature. - A tranquil and very enjoyably experience witnessing the natural beauty of the wetlands. During our boat ride we saw numerous birds including a variety of king fishers, herons, a lapwing and a kite. Additionally we were fortunate to see a baby crocodile. A wonderful trip and would certainly highly recommend this trip to anyone who is interested in nature or seeking some tranquility.

Great experience - I recommend it. About an hour from our hotel in Colombo, we took a tuk-tuk through the local city to the boat dock. The driver, Samith, was safe driving and was able to ride safely. I would like to take part in another boat tour one day where you can meet various birds and creatures while going slowly in beautiful scenery.

Fun Mangrove Tour! - A super fun exoerience which exceeded my expectations. The guide is enthusiastic and knowledgeable. A must do while in Negombo or Columbo.

The guide is so... - The guide is so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We saw birds and water monitors and monkeys and he provided snacks and refreshments. It was a wonderful time and a highly recommended tour!
