Day Plan: Arrival in Sri Lanka

Upon arrival at Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), the tour leader will greet you and arrange your transfer to the hotel. Alternatively, pick-up is available from any hotel in Colombo or Negombo.

Your adventure begins in Negombo, a charming coastal town known for its golden sandy beaches, delightful cuisine, and lively atmosphere.

Negombo - Relax and Unwind:

The first day is kept flexible to allow for a convenient arrival in Sri Lanka. The 24/7 airport transfer service ensures a hassle-free start to your trip. Spend the day unwinding at your cozy hotel, either by the pool or on the beach.

SIGIRIYA FORTRESS

Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - In the afternoon, explore the magnificent Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic landmarks. This ancient rock fortress, built by King Kasyapa (477–495 AD), rises dramatically from the plains and is adorned with vibrant frescoes. It’s considered one of the wonders of the ancient world, celebrated for its advanced engineering and architectural brilliance. Climb to the summit in time to witness a breathtaking sunset and panoramic views that will leave you in awe.

GOLDEN CAVE TEMPLE / HISTORIC KANDY / CULTURAL SHOW

Dambulla Cave Temple - The first stop will be the Royal Cave Temple and Golden Buddha Statue in Dambulla, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Perched atop a 160-meter-high rock, this site is home to Sri Lanka’s largest and best-preserved cave temple complex. Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - Upon arrival in Kandy, visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. This sacred temple is revered as one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the world and houses a relic believed to be a tooth of the Buddha.
