Not quite a tour of Jamaica - This is not a tour of the island you do get a personal driver who takes you to Negril and Rick's Cafe. You spend 3 to 4 hours at the beach. And about 3 hours at Rick's cafe. The driver was very nice and pointed out some sites along the way.

Highly recommended! - A must do when in Jamaica! The white sandy beaches in Negril and the beautiful cliffs near Rick's Cafe are a must see. Hosan was an amazing guide and kept us entertained throughout the 2 hour journey each way from Montego Bay to Negril. You won't regret booking with Down to Earth tours!

Amazing Sunset - We wanted to go to Seven Mile Beach and Rick’s Cafe from our resort. Hosan helped us with the tour! He was very knowledgeable about the area and gave great advice. We felt very safe and confident we were in good hands. We enjoyed the conversion on our long drive. He answered our many questions about Jamaica and the culture. We truly enjoyed our service with Hosan!

Must experience - What can I say, a great experience! The tour guide, Hosan Kaye, was a cool guy with a welcoming smile and personality! So easy to engage with and be yourself! He knew we were three women ready to have a good time!! He was going to make sure we had great memories and amazing experience! On the drive, we had great conversation and he let us turn up the music. Also with this drive you get to see businesses, homes, people, animals, and experience someone driving on the left side of the road! He truly helped us experience Jamaican culture in the fullest!! No doubt he helped create lifetime memories! It was perfect, relax on the beach and then head to Rick’s Cafe to turn up! Best of all, he is right there in the parking lot if we needed him for anything! The view and cliff diving is such a beautiful site! You can’t miss this tour’s experience! Due to Hosan being so much fun, we used him to take us out to Margaritaville and Pier One.

Great Experience! - My friends and I stayed at Hilton Rose Hall Resort in Montego Bay. We called Down to Earth Tours for some adventures we were interested in. Hosan helped us plan out our day trip to Seven Mile Beach, followed by time at Rick's Cafe in Negril for the beautiful sunset. Hosan was very good at communicating details with us, giving us peace of mind and he was always on time.
We enjoyed visiting with him during the ride as he was very personable and pointed out sights and shared details of the area and of Jamaican culture. He was always willing to stop along the way so that we could check out the view and snap our picture or stop at a gift shop. We called Hosan for other enjoyable outings during our stay to restaurants/bars/dancing outside of the resort. We always felt safe with him as our guide. We had the most wonderful vacation!

If you are a woman please read before booking - want to start by saying the driver and owner of this transportation service was incredibly kind, respectful, and professional. This review is in no way a reflection of him — my issue is entirely with the boat charter experience he brought us to in Negril.
This trip was meant to be a celebration — I came to Jamaica for one week to celebrate my 30th birthday with my husband and our 7-year-old daughter. Unfortunately, the boat charter turned into one of the most humiliating and disappointing experiences I’ve ever had while traveling.
About 15 minutes into the boat ride, we stopped to snorkel. My husband and daughter got into the water, and I stayed on the boat to enjoy a drink and a smoke. While sitting alone, I overheard a conversation between two Jamaican men and two American women behind me. At one point, one of the men got on the boat’s ledge in front of me. Then, the man behind me — who I later found out was also a staff member, not a guest — said to him, “Find your own girl, leave mine alone,” then gestured toward me and said, “Talk to her.”
The other man, who was also part of the boat crew, looked at me with disgust and responded in patwa, “I don’t want that girl,” before jumping into the water.
I was shocked and embarrassed. I hadn’t done or said anything to deserve that. Being publicly disrespected and made the butt of a joke by the staff was humiliating — especially while traveling with my family. Still, I tried to move forward and make the best of the day.
I decided to get into the water and join my family, so I approached the captain, who was chatting with three women in bikinis. When he finished talking to them, I politely asked, “Hey, can I get in the water?” He didn’t respond. I asked again, and he finally replied, “No, everyone is coming back in. You can get off at the next stop.”
I pointed out that the girls he had just spoken to were about to enter the water. Again, he said nothing. I repeated my question: “Why is it okay for them to get in but not me?” One of the women then said to her friend, “We’ll just jump in then jump back out.” The captain finally responded — but instead of addressing the issue, he asked me, “Well, can you swim?”
That caught me completely off guard. I replied, “What does that have to do with anything? Did you ask them if they can swim?” At no point had I been rude, raised my voice, or acted disrespectfully — I was simply confused and frustrated at the unequal treatment.
At that point, I just wanted to get off the boat. I told the captain this directly, and once again, he ignored me. I eventually found another crew member and asked who the captain was, and he confirmed it was the same man I had been speaking to — the one who had repeatedly refused to answer any of my questions.
The captain continued interacting with other guests but ignored me completely. I spent the next 30 minutes crying on the boat, while other passengers filmed me in distress. I was made to feel isolated, unwanted, and degraded — all while trying to enjoy a $500+ boat trip with my family.
My husband and daughter never complained or said I caused any problems, because I didn’t. I was respectful and calm until I was repeatedly disrespected, mocked, and excluded by multiple members of the staff. Any person in my situation would have been upset.
Again, the driver who brought us was not the issue — he was wonderful. But the charter boat crew showed an appalling lack of professionalism and basic respect. I would not recommend this experience to anyone — especially not to women or families looking for a safe, welcoming environment. I now just want to go home early and put this birthday trip behind me

The boat ride has extremely disrespectful staff , pay at your own risk -
I feel so bad leaving a one star review under this man’s listing . I want to say the driver/owner of this driving service is incredibly nice and respectful man. My problem came when the driver took us to Negril seven mile beach and we got on a charter boat . 15 minutes after setting sail we stopped to snorkel. My seven year old daughter and my husband got into the water while I stayed on the boat enjoying rum punch and smoking. There were 2 Jamaican men and 2 American women sitting behind me having a conversation. At some point one the guys get on the boat ledge in front of me. The guy behind me says to the guy on the ledge to “find your own girl leave mine alone “ then he gestures towards me and says “ talk to her “ . The guy in front of me looks at me with disgust, says “I don’t want that girl “ in patwa then jumps into the water. I was feeling down after that , being treated poorly for no reason sucks but I wanted to try to make the best of the boat ride anyway. So i decided to get up and find my family in the water . I walked up to the captain who was talking to 3 females in bikinis . When he was finished talking to them I asked “hey can I get in the water “ he did not respond. I said it again “ hey can I get in “ he said “no, everyone is coming back in , you can get off at the next stop. “ I said really because the girls you just talked are getting in right now. Again he just stared at me silent. So I said again “ ok so why is it ok for them to get in and not me ? At that moment the girl who getting in the water looks to her friend and says we “will just jump in then jump back out.” The captain then says to me “well can you swim “ I said “ what does that have to do with anything? Did you ask them if they can swim ?” At this point I’m tried of going back and forth and say I want off the boat . We are 15 minutes from shore and I’m being disrespected left and right. I told the captain I want off and he ignored me once more . I found another crew member and asked who the captain was, he confirmed that it was the captain who I had been speaking to. The captain refused to answer any of my questions and only spoke to others when they asked questions. I spent the next 30 minutes being filmed by other boat passengers while I cried. I paid over $500 to be embarrassed and made to feel isolated and uncomfortable when I just wanted to have a good time with my family. After this experience I want to leave Jamaica and never return. Side note I’m here for 1 week celebrating my 30th birthday. I should have stayed home .
