Flight from Kathmandu or Ramechap (1,400m / 4,593ft) to Lukla (2,850m / 9,350ft). Trek to Phakding (2,650m / 8,562ft)
Flights to Lukla - After an exhilarating 40-minute flight, guests will land at Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla. The journey to EBC begins here, marking the first day of the trek. The trek from Lukla passes through Chaurikharka village and descends to Dudhkoshi Ghat (2,530m / 8,300ft) before reaching Phakding. This short and pleasant trek also aids in acclimatization. Visitors can explore local monasteries, such as Rimishung Monastery, and prepare for the longer trek ahead.
Trek from Phakding (2,650m / 8,562ft) to Namche Bazaar (3,440m / 11,285ft)
Namche Bazaar - The trek continues along the northern bank of the Dudh Koshi River, offering stunning views and crossing several suspension bridges, including the Hillary Suspension Bridge. After reaching the Sagarmatha National Park check post for permit registration, the trail ascends through dense forests, offering the first glimpse of Mt. Everest. The trek concludes at Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Everest.
Rest day and acclimatization at Namche Bazaar
Irish Pub - A day for acclimatization at Namche Bazaar, where visitors can explore the town’s cafes, restaurants, souvenir, and gear shops. Hiking options include visiting Hillary School, Sherpa settlements, Syangboche Airport, and yak farms. A hike to Everest View Hotel offers breathtaking views of Mt. Everest.
Trek from Namche (3,440m / 11,285ft) to Tengboche/Deboche (3,855m / 12,850ft)
Tengboche - The trek to Tengboche involves a series of ascents and descents through forests, offering rewarding views. Wildlife sightings may include musk deer, pheasants, and Himalayan Thars. After descending to Phunki Thenga Village, the trail ascends to Tengboche, known for its stunning views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam, and the largest Buddhist monastery in the Khumbu Region. Overnight stay at Deboche.
Trek from Tengboche (3,855m / 12,850ft) to Dingboche (4,360m / 14,290ft)
Dingboche - The trek to Dingboche passes Chortens, mani walls, and small villages like Pangboche, offering views of Mt. Ama Dablam. As altitude increases, fields surrounded by stone walls protect crops like barley, buckwheat, and potatoes.
Rest day and acclimatization at Dingboche
Dingboche - Another acclimatization day, allowing the body to adjust to the altitude. A walk up the ridge above Dingboche provides spectacular views of mountains such as Ama Dablam, Island Peak, Cho Oyu, and Makalu.
Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,900m), 5 to 6 hrs walking
Lobuche - The trek begins with stunning Himalayan views. Initially challenging, the trail narrows near Dusa and follows the first Everest Expedition route. The path offers views of Mt. Pumori and crosses a river to reach the Remembrance Refuge, a site with cairn memorials. The trail continues to Khumbu’s glacier moraine, leading to Lobuche, a small village with breathtaking mountain vistas.
Trek from Lobuche (4,930m / 16,175ft) to EBC (5,364m / 17,598ft) and back to Gorak Shep (5,185m / 17,010ft)
Everest Base Camp - A remarkable day reaching Base Camp. The trek follows the Khumbu Glacier’s lateral moraine to Gorak Shep Village, surrounded by snow-capped mountains. After leaving belongings at Gorak Shep, the hike to Base Camp offers incredible views and photo opportunities. The return journey passes the Khumbu Glacier, the world’s deepest glacier.
Hike to Kala Patthar (5,555m / 18,208ft) viewpoint, trek to Gorak Shep then to Pheriche (4,250m/13,945ft)
Kala Patthar - After a restful night at Pheriche, the day begins with breakfast and a trek down to Tengboche. The route passes through rhododendron and juniper forests, crossing the Imja Khola bridge, leading to an overnight stay in Tengboche.
Trek from Pheriche (4,250m / 13,945ft) to Namche Bazaar (3,440m / 11,285ft)
Namche Bazaar - After a restful night at Pheriche, the trek continues to Tengboche, passing through forests with high-altitude wildlife like pheasants, musk deer, mountain goats, and possibly snow leopards. The trail features prayer flags, chortens, and views of Lhotse and Mt. Everest. Upon reaching Namche Bazaar, guests will rest at their lodges.
Trek from Namche Bazaar (3,440m / 11,285ft) to Lukla (2,850m / 9,350ft)
Lukla - A short trek to Phakding follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing suspension bridges and passing through forests and villages. The trail ascends gently to Kusum Stream, then steeply to Toktok, offering new views. The trek concludes in Lukla, marking the last day of trekking with an overnight stay.
Fly back to Kathmandu or Ramechap (1,400m / 4,593ft) from Lukla (2,850m / 9,350ft)
Kathmandu - The final trek day begins with breakfast and a relaxing 40-minute flight back to Kathmandu, offering time to reflect on the journey. Upon arrival, guests will return to their hotels, with the rest of the day free for personal activities.
Final Departure and Farewell Dinner (Drive to the Airport to head back to that special place we call home).
Kathmandu - Glorious Eco Trek will host a farewell dinner, presenting successful trek certificates. This event provides an opportunity to share feedback on the trek experience. On the final day in Nepal, a Glorious Eco Trek representative will transfer guests to Tribhuvan International Airport for departure. The hotel pick-up time will align with the flight schedule, so guests should be prepared accordingly.
