Kathmandu Valley - Upon arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, a team member from Nepal Social Treks will assist with your hotel check-in and provide your room key. Enjoy your leisure time by resting, reading, or exploring the Thamel Area to alleviate jet lag. In the evening, attend a briefing session with your trekking guide, who will provide essential information about the trek and introduce you to the group. After the meeting, enjoy a welcome dinner with the group.
Morning Flight to Lukla (2,840m/9,317 ft) and Trek to Phakding (2,610m/8563ft)
Lukla - Early in the morning, take a 40-minute domestic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, known as one of the world’s most extreme airports, offering a lifetime experience with breathtaking scenery. Upon arrival, meet local staff and porters. Begin the trek on a relatively easy trail towards Cheplung village, a beautiful landmark with blessings from the Stupa of Enlightenment for all visitors traveling to the Mount Everest region. From the village, catch your first glimpse of the mountain with a distant view of Mt. Khumbila. Continue along the Dudh Koshi River, the highest river in terms of elevation, until reaching Phakding village, a small village in the Khumbu Region where you’ll enjoy dinner with the group.
Trek from Phakding (2,610m/8,563 ft) to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft)
Namche Bazaar - This day’s walk takes you through a pine forest, rustic villages, and occasional yak pastures. After leaving Phakding, follow a narrow trail alongside the Dudh Koshi River, passing Sherpa villages and crossing suspension bridges to Sagarmatha National Park, a protected region in the northeastern Nepali Himalayas. The trail leads uphill to Jorsalle, offering majestic glimpses of Kusum Kanguru, Thamserku, Everest, and Nuptse. Namche Bazaar, considered the Sherpa Capital, provides a close-up view of Kongde-Ri and Thamserku.
Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft)
Namche Bazaar - Spend a leisurely day acclimatizing at Namche Bazaar to minimize altitude sickness. To keep active, hike to the beautiful village of Khumjung, where you can visit the historic monastery and a school built by Sir Edmund Hillary. Afterwards, visit the Everest View Hotel, one of the highest-placed luxurious hotels in the world, listed in the Guinness Book of World Records (2004) for its panoramic views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtega, Taboche, and Kwangde.
Trek from Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft) to Tengboche (3,860m/12,664ft)
Tengboche - After acclimatization, continue the trek through dense forest, passing Phungithanga and transitioning into a challenging uphill trail. The trail passes a water-powered prayer wheel and continues to Tengboche, home to Khumbu’s largest Buddhist monastery. Visit Tengboche Monastery, where you can enjoy spectacular views of surrounding mountains like Ama Dablam, Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse.
Trek from Tengboche (3,860m/12,664 ft) to Dingboche (4,410m/14,468ft)
Dingboche - After breakfast, head north from Tengboche and cross a suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. Walk on a narrow path towards Orsho and Imja Khola, passing rhododendron, birch, and conifer trees. Visit small villages, mani walls, and chortens before reaching Dingboche, the highest Sherpa settlement in Khumbu. Dingboche is enclosed by stone walls, offering a view of Ama Dablam just a stone’s throw away.
Acclimatization Day at Dingboche (4,410m/14,468ft)
Dingboche - Spend another crucial acclimatization day at Dingboche to adjust to the high elevation and thin air. Make the 400-meter ascent to Nangkartshang Peak, located on the village’s northern slope. Reaching the summit of Nangkartshang Peak requires a two-hour steep ascent from the center of Dingboche. This peak’s summit, at 5,083 meters, offers stunning views of Ama Dablam, Makalu, Lhotse, Kantega, and Cho Oyu.
Trek from Dingboche (4,410m/14,468ft) to Lobuche (4,910/16,108ft)
Lobuche - The day begins with a gradual climb towards Pheriche valley, where you’ll see soaring peaks like Ama Dablam, Taboche, and Cholatse. The trail becomes strenuous, with steep climbs over Khumbu Glacier moraine. Reach Thukla Pass, decorated with prayer flags and stone shrines. After crossing, arrive at Lobuche, an overnight destination with stunning views of Nuptse and Taboche.
Trek from Lobuche (4,910m/16,108ft) to Gorak Shep (5,140m/16,863ft) and Excursion to Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,598ft)
Everest Base Camp - On the Everest Base Camp Trek, depart from Lobuche and travel on rough terrain towards Gorak Shep, where you’ll see mountains like Pumori and Nuptse. At Gorak Shep, drop your backpacks and follow a rocky trail towards the base camp, where you’ll see glacial moraine and streams. From there, enjoy breathtaking views of Nuptse, Pumori, Khumbu Icefall, and Khumbutse. Return to Gorak Shep, a small settlement with stunning views of Nuptse and Taboche.
Morning Hike to Kala Patthar (5,643m/18,513ft) and Trek to Pheriche (4,270m/14,009ft)
Pheriche - The Everest Base Camp Trek begins early at dawn with a hike to Kala Patthar, a prominent viewpoint in the region. The route is steep and rocky, offering stunning sunrise views of various massifs. After a brief stop, descend towards Lobuche, continue along rough trails until Thukla Pass, and cross a bridge to reach Pheriche. Pheriche is home to the Himalayan Rescue Association Clinic, a non-profit organization aiming to reduce casualties during trekking and mountaineering in the Himalayas.

Tengboche - On this day, return to Tengboche after a relatively easy trek, with some strenuous uphills. The densely forested area is covered by rhododendron and juniper trees, and rare wildlife and birds may be observed. After a five-hour walk, arrive at Tengboche, where you’ll see peaks like Ama Dablam, Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse.

Trek from Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft) to Lukla (2,840m/9,317ft)
Lukla - The day begins with a steep descent from Namche Bazaar, followed by a challenging route to the Dudh Koshi River bank. The Everest Massif, the highest peak on Earth, is where this river originates. In the Everest region, the river is formed by the melting of glaciers and snow. Crossing a suspension bridge leads to a pleasant path through rhododendron and pine forests. Eventually, reach Phakding, a small Sherpa settlement, where you cross another suspension bridge and head uphill toward Lukla. Along the way, pass Buddhist monasteries, chortens, and mani walls. Celebrate the Everest Base Camp Trek’s success with the entire team before returning to Kathmandu.
Fly from Lukla (2,840m/4,429ft) to Kathmandu
Kathmandu - On the final day of your Everest Base Camp adventure, bid farewell to the mountains and return to Kathmandu. The 40-minute flight offers stunning views of the Himalayas. A representative from Nepal Social Treks will greet you at the domestic terminal and transfer you to a hotel. Back at the hotel, choose to relax or take a stroll through Thamel’s bustling marketplace to pick up some souvenirs.

Kathmandu Valley - On your final day in Nepal, a representative from Nepal Social Treks will transport you to Tribhuvan International Airport, assist with the check-in terminal, and drop you off.
