Fantastic tour, Martin... - Fantastic tour, Martin was a great tour guide. Must see for any Band of Brothers fan, you see the actual foxholes that E company were in during the Battle of the Bulge. The war museum itself was also very well done.

One of the best tours I have taken - Well organized and well run tour visiting some amazing sites. The best part of the tour was our guide, Martin King. Often times when you go on these tours you get guides who have memorized a script or perhaps done a bit of work studying the subject. Martin has published seventeen books, won Emmy’s, and been referred to as the “greatest living expert” on the Battle of the Bulge. Amazing depth of knowledge and a clear passion for the subject. He spoke the entire time we were in the bus transiting from site to site providing details on the battle and blending in amazing stories of personal interactions with Bulge veterans and other historical figures.

Great commentary - Our guide, Martin King, was excellent and it was worth doing the tour just to listen to and learn from him. But the overall experience was a bit superficial and it would have been better to have more time on the ground in the Ardennes and less in the museum, which is not really just about the battle of the bulge but the whole war - not what I came to Bastogne for.

This is the best tour I found availabe at this price. - It was good but not great in my opinion. Our guide was a well published and very personable historian of the Battle, Martin King, a Scotsman. He was a good talker but a "too much talker" with a rambling narrative of stories of the Battle and his encounters with the actual participants featured in the "Band of Brothers" miniseries. We spent the most time at the Museum in Bastogne which presents a photo and placard history of the War years 1914 thru 1945 along with some displays of tanks and equipment used by both sides. I am well versed in this history having read many books on this particular era of European militarism so there was little presented that I did not know. A stop at the US Army Cemetery was a bit haunting - so many markers. We visited one battleground in Bastogne where the 101st Airborne Division (Band of Brothers) were posted and saw the remnants of the foxholes where they fought and died.

Ear plugs needed - Viator booking process was great, reminder emails were very timely. Can't fault them. The tour however....Take ear plugs! The tour guide prattled on for 6 hours about his books, his TV shows, his opinions and reviews of other writers and TV shows. The actual tour itself was ok, but the tour guide really overwhelmed the whole experience. Bus driver was great! I struggle to recommend.
