Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive - Often referred to as a “drive through the seasons,” the Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive is a 12-mile paved mountain road that ascends over 4,000 feet in elevation. It takes travelers from the high-desert sagebrush of the valley floor to the sub-alpine forests at the base of Nevada’s second-highest peak.

Lehman Caves - Lehman Caves is a stunning underground creation of marble and limestone, located beneath the base of Wheeler Peak. Unlike many caves made of dull rock, Lehman is sculpted into low-grade marble, giving its formations a distinctive crystalline sparkle and a “cathedral-like” appearance.

A standout feature of Lehman Caves is the abundance of Parachute Shields. While most caves are known for stalactites (ceiling) and stalagmites (floor), Lehman boasts over 300 rare “shields”—circular stone plates resembling open parachutes or shields attached to the walls. It is one of the world’s densest collections of these formations.
