Derinkuyu Underground City - A captivating historical site in Cappadocia, Turkey. It is among the largest and deepest underground cities, reaching depths of up to 60 meters (200 feet). Initially built by the Phrygians around the 8th–7th century BC, it was later expanded by the Romans, Byzantines, and others. Derinkuyu served as a refuge during invasions, providing safety with its multiple levels, rooms, tunnels, kitchens, storage areas, churches, and ventilation shafts. It could accommodate thousands, with provisions like food, water, and livestock stored inside. Rediscovered in 1963, it showcases ancient engineering marvels designed for survival.

Ihlara Valley - A breathtaking natural and historical site in central Turkey’s Cappadocia region.
