Agra Sightseeing
Agra - Meet your private guide in the hotel lobby at 5:45 AM to visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise. The Taj Mahal, a symbol of Shah Jahan’s eternal love for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. After visiting, return to the hotel for breakfast. Post breakfast and checkout, you’ll visit Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the only fort in India where all early Mughal emperors resided.
Taj Mahal - The Taj Mahal, or ‘Crown of the Palace,’ is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the Yamuna riverbank in Agra. Commissioned in 1632 by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, it also contains Shah Jahan’s tomb. The 17-hectare complex includes a mosque, guest house, and formal gardens enclosed by a crenellated wall.
Agra Fort - A historical fort in Agra, it was the main residence of Mughal emperors until 1638 when the capital moved to Delhi. Also known as “Lal-Qila,” “Fort Rouge,” or “Qila-i-Akbari.”
Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah - This tomb is a masterpiece of domeless Mughal architecture. The first building finished in white marble, it marks the transition from red stone to white marble, from Akbar’s tomb Sikandra to the Taj Mahal. It reflects the personality of the Iranian buried here and the ornamental character of its builder, Nur Jehan, who ruled the Mughal Empire from behind the curtain for 16 years (1611–27).

Delhi is a city thriving with an amalgamation of culture, tradition, architectural marvels, and a varying population. Nestled on the edge of the River Yamuna, it has repeatedly been the hub of various empires, has been razed but has always bounced back each time with renewed strength. It was during the Mughal rule that Old Delhi received some of its iconic monuments such as Red Fort, Humayun’s Tomb and Jama Masjid.
Agra, the city that houses the Taj Mahal, is ensconced in the state of Uttar Pradesh, alongside the River Yamuna. It was once the epicentre of the powerful Mughals and echoes its rich culture and tradition even today. It is the proud occupier of two World Heritage Sites, the Taj Mahal, and Agra Fort, both of which are staple stops on any tour of Agra.
