Taj Mahal - Upon reaching Agra, meet your tour guide and start your tour with the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This renowned tomb is a testament to the timeless love story of the 17th-century Fifth Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan, for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Constructed with white marble, this symbol of eternal love draws visitors from around the globe each year, captivating them at first sight. A visit to Agra is incomplete without seeing this iconic monument. Note: The Taj Mahal is closed every Friday.
Agra Fort - After visiting the Taj Mahal, explore the Agra Fort, an architectural marvel and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D., this massive fort, also known as Lal Qila (Red Fort) or Qila-i-Akbari, is a symbol of Agra and is often referred to as a walled city. Made of red sandstone, it was once the residence of the Mughals. The fort’s courtyards, mosques, and private chambers echo the story of the Mughal Empire. Within the Agra Fort are exquisite structures like the Pearl Mosque, Diwan-i-Khas, Diwan-i-Aam, Moti Masjid, and Jahangiri Mahal. The elegant buildings inside reflect a fascinating blend of Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles. The view of the Yamuna River and Taj Mahal from the fort’s pavilions is breathtaking.
Jaipur - After a lunch break (at your own expense), you will be driven to Jaipur. The city of Jaipur was designed according to the Shilpa-Shastra, an ancient Hindu architectural treatise, in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber. Jaipur was the first planned city in India and is also known as the Pink City due to the color of the buildings in its charming old city. The city was painted pink to honor the visit of Prince Albert of England in 1882. Arrive in Jaipur and stay overnight in a comfortable hotel.
