A local guide will greet visitors in Vrindavan and provide a tour of the town where Krishna spent his childhood. Vrindavan is home to over 5,000 temples. This tour includes visits to the two most renowned temples - the Bankey Bihari Temple and Prem Mandir Temple. The exquisite idols of Krishna and his divine love Radha, along with other maidens, are truly captivating. The Bankey Bihari Temple is unique among Hindu temples as it does not feature any bells, as it is believed that bells would disturb the sleep of Krishna, who is worshipped here in his child form.
- Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple - Following the temple visits, the tour continues to the nearby town of Mathura. Here, visitors can explore the Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple, built on the site believed to be Krishna’s birthplace. Within the temple complex, there is a water pond where the infant Krishna was first bathed. Visitors can spend time exploring the six shrines of the temple. The main shrine houses stunning 6-foot high idols of Krishna and Radha.
Lunch (beverages not included) will be enjoyed at a local restaurant.
- Swaminarayan Akshardham - On the return drive to Delhi, there will be a stop at the Akshardham Temple. This temple is recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest comprehensive Hindu temple. It took five years and 11,000 artisans and volunteers to complete this temple, which opened to the public in 2005. The walls of this ancient-style stone temple are adorned with intricately carved sculptures of flora, fauna, dancers, musicians, and Hindu deities. Constructed according to the principles of traditional Hindu architecture, the temple contains no ferrous metal. It features over nine domes, 230 intricately carved pillars, 148 life-sized elephants, and more than 20,000 idols.
After the tour of Akshardham Temple, guests will be returned to their hotel.
