Smooth and Enjoyable Trip Thanks to Naresh - I had a really good experience on this trip, and a lot of the credit goes to Naresh. He was very helpful from the beginning and made everything feel easy and stress-free. Whenever I had a question or needed something, he was quick to assist and always polite. His support helped me feel comfortable and confident throughout the journey. It’s not always easy to find someone who is patient, reliable, and willing to go the extra mile, but Naresh truly did. Because of his help, the entire trip felt smoother and more enjoyable. I genuinely appreciate his effort.

A fantastic visit with photos to treasure forever - What a great day yesterday! A few weeks ago I told a friend who grew up in India that I was planning my first visit. She said, 'If you're staying in Delhi, add a day and go to Agra. You can see the Taj Mahal. You don't know when you might be close enough to go again, right?' It was a good point so I looked for ways to get there! I considered going to Agra on the train, but by the time I factored in the journey to the train station from where I'm staying in Delhi, it would have been nearly the same length of journey (and that's just according to Google maps - one thing I've learned on this trip is you can't underestimate Delhi traffic). Arjun, my driver, picked me up at 7am and we made good progress through Delhi to reach the motorway. We met Naresh near the Taj Mahal entrance gate at about 11:30am. He joined us in the car for a few minutes before Arjun dropped us off. My first impressions were that Naresh is professional, courteous, and articulate. We chatted as we walked down from the main entrance to the ticket barriers - we could have taken a trolley-style shuttle, but I wanted to stretch my legs. Very soon after we entered the site, Naresh's passion for photography began to show. He took some really lovely pictures of me throughout the visit, which he sent to me via WhatsApp. This meant I didn't need to negotiate with the on-site 'official' photographers or rely on other visitors in order to avoid having only a series of selfies as mementoes. Naresh explained the history of the site, the story of Shah Jahan's grief, and the process of building the Taj Mahal. He pointed out the Hindu, Islamic and even Gothic influences on the architecture and decoration, both inside and outside the mausoleum. I felt like I was in good hands. At the end of the visit, we took the trolley shuttle to the main gates. Arjun picked us up and drove us to the hotel for lunch. The buffet was very good. I skipped the European style items in favour of chicken curry, steamed rice, some papad, and a few street food bites (hors d'oeuvres-style portions). Naresh and I also shared an order of delicious garlic and coriander naan. I had a glass of a nice Indian chenin blanc with my meal, which reasonably priced at INR 650. Naresh offered to take me to a marble cutting place after lunch, and offered a shop selling authentic pashminas as an alternative. I found a stunning bright pink pashmina (90% pashmina/10% silk, INR 5800) to take home as a souvenir. Next we went to Agra Fort, a short car journey away. It was really worth seeing. Naresh pointed out the highlights of the architecture and decor, including flecks of paint on ceilings that would have been richly decorated, the elephant gate, and a wooden bookshelf still in place in the former library. By this point in the day, the light was changing, which made for some great pictures! As we finished at the Fort, I felt like I'd achieved my goals for the day. Arjun and I set off on the long drive back to Delhi. I highly recommend Naresh to anyone who has one day to see the Taj Mahal. If you don’t know when you’re going to be in Delhi again, book this tour. On a future overnight stay, I'd love to go to Mehtab Bagh in the evening to see the Taj Mahal at night, visit the Taj Mahal at dawn to see its colours in the sunrise, and visit Itimad Ud Daulah's tomb ('baby Taj') for good measure. I’m keeping Naresh’s number. I’ll also recommend him to any friends who are visiting Delhi as he’s also willing to make the journey to take great photos there :) .
