Visitors can choose to explore either the Itmad-Ud-Daulah Tomb or Agra Fort.
- Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah - Located in Agra, India, Itmad-ud-Daulah is a Mughal mausoleum often referred to as a “jewel box” or the “Baby Taj.” Commissioned by Nur Jahan, the wife of Jahangir, for her father Mirza Ghiyas Beg, who was honored with the title “Itmad-ud-Daulah,” meaning “Pillar of the State.”
The tomb’s construction began in 1622 and was completed in 1628. It is regarded as a precursor to the Taj Mahal due to its intricate marble work and delicate carvings, showcasing some of the finest examples of Mughal architecture from that era. Itmad-ud-Daulah is also notable as the first Mughal structure in India to be entirely built of marble.
