The Mardi Gras School of Cooking offers small, intimate, hands-on classes in the French Quarter. These sessions feel more like a dinner party with friends. Our Chefs personally welcome you into the kitchen. From the moment you arrive until you leave, our Chefs are friendly, personable, and entertaining, with impeccable culinary skills.
Our classes require a minimum of 2 participants. Solo travelers can join an existing class. Call us to learn about available sessions.

Experience with Chef Mark! - Absolutely Amazing Cooking Class.
My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of taking a cooking class at the Mardi Gras School of Cooking in New Orleans, and we were blown away! Chef Mark was incredible—his energy was infectious, and he made the entire experience so much fun from start to finish.
We loved the small, intimate class setting, which made it feel personal and engaging. Chef Mark was not only knowledgeable and skilled, but also personable, funny, and a fantastic instructor. He walked us through each step with clear guidance and shared so many great tips that we’ll be using in our kitchen for years to come.
We make it a tradition to take cooking classes whenever we travel, and this one was hands down one of the best we’ve ever taken. If you’re in New Orleans and looking for an authentic, interactive, and delicious experience—we highly recommend the Mardi Gras School of Cooking and especially Chef Mark! You won’t be disappointed!

A highlight of our New Orleans experience - Our cooking class was so much fun! We took the roux class on June 30. James was our chef and he is amazing. My husband was nervous about how this would go, and he agrees that it was a great experience. James helped us every step of the way, and our dishes were delicious - even with us cooking it. We highly recommend the class, and will come back when in New Orleans again.

Best meal ever - This was such a great experience. Chef Ray was a good storyteller and teacher. We cant wait to get home to try the recipes for our friends. One of the beat cooking classes i have ever taken. He even taught us the tradition of pinning money on your shirt for your birthday. It was truly the best gumbo ever!!!!!

unforgettable experience - Raymond's class was a highlight of our trip to NOLA. My son and I enjoyed the hands-on cooking, and we marveled at how it felt like a cozy dinner with friends we'd known forever. Raymond's enthusiasm is infectious, his knowledge unbounded and the food was the best we ate in NOLA and that is no lie. We would love to do more classes when we return to NOLA and would recommend for all ages! Thank you SO MUCH for an unforgettable time! Raymond rules! :)

Cooking Party in NOLA - Fantastic Mardi Gras Roux Class!
Jason was an awesome chef and instructor — knowledgeable, engaging, and fun. My girlfriend and I had a great time and learned a lot, even as someone who already enjoys cooking. The roux we made turned out excellent, and the whole class had great energy. Highly recommend if you're into Cajun flavors or just want a unique, hands-on experience.

Learning the secrets of Louisiana cooking! - It was fun and informative. We loved it! I took 2 of my 17 year old granddaughters, one who is a real foodie. They both loved the class. They are excited to try their new skills when they get back home.
