A cautionary tale of history that is beautifully curated - Wonderful museum that takes you through the entire war. The trials and the tribulations. Bring good walking shoes and be prepared for a lot of people. The main criticism is that the handout map is not very good but there are volunteers to help guide the way if you get lost. Everyone should have to go through this museum to understand the mistakes of the past that are mirrored in our present

Unbelievable Experience - This is truly a comprehensive experience about WW 2. The Tour information estimated a 2-3 hour visit. It is self directed. There are 7 areas discussing different aspects of the War. It was so engrossing that we were there 5 hours!! The memorabilia and news videos were beautifully done. I am not a "history buff" or a big museum person, but I say that this is probably one of the best tours we have been on. Very reasonably priced. We highly recommend this tour!

A must see - plan on spending the day! - Expected to see over s few hours. We spent the day. It was great. I have never been a war buff and I haven’t enjoyed war movies but this was fascinating. Short informative film clips were interesting and made the museum even more enjoyable. I learned so much!

AMAZING!!! - Can't really add much more than other reviews, but my family, which includes my teen who has a strong interest in WWII, thoroughly enjoyed everything about the museum. The interactive exhibits, artifacts, film/video/audio segments, the Beyond Boundaries movie, personal stories, etc. made this an unforgettable experience. As others have mentioned, we really should have planned for two days. While we made it through all the exhibits in the 7.5 hrs we were there, we didn't view every video or read every placard. The individual stories truly made history come alive.

A Museum Not To Be Missed. - The World War II Museum was fantastic. Each portion of the Museum told a part of the story. Between the movie reels and the exhibits there was a lot of information to take in. We got there at 10am and didn't leave until 4pm. Unfortunately, that was the only time we had. I would have loved to spend another day there, but we didn't have the time. Definitely worthwhile. Don't miss it. My husband, who does not usually love museums, loved it.

Amazing museum that felt like a journey through WWII - learned so much and so informative - Our friends suggested that we spend the entire day here, as they only got in a half-day and did not finish what they all wanted to see. The location is walkable from our hotel just off of Canal Street in the French Quarter. It is in a safe walking area. The complex consists of seven buildings, we started in the main building shortly after opening hours so the ticket line queue was very short. We rode the "train" to start, where you pick up a dog tag of a real soldier. After that, you go through a well planned journey. The Road to Berlin, Road to Tokyo. So many exhibits with real objects from the wars. The actual film footages can be very overwhelming. It really reminded us the cruelty of war and sacrifices for freedom. The US Freedom Pavilion Boeing Center displayed many aircrafts and a USS Tang submarine experience (a bit silly, in our opinion) The seventh building had a Higgins PT boat that is still in operable condition!! It was very exciting to see something like that with a staff that you could ask questions. We took a lunch break in the American Sector restaurant (a separate review), it was perfect. If we had another day in New Orleans, the visit would be a two-day journey. One could not possibly read and spend the time with each display/exhibit in just a single day. Very well done and organized. Everyone should experience this museum, hopefully take home that war is just an awful way to resolve conflicts, but for all the courageous soldiers that fought for our freedom >>>> what sacrifice they made and we are very grateful that they did the right thing.

Definitely you have to visit this place - Worth every penny; the atmosphere between every part of the museum is great and match with the theme, but the jewel of the crown was the Movie on the theatre, 4D and it wasn’t a lie !, highly recommend

Very well done - Great museum. So much information. A little difficult to maneuver between areas. Only negative is parking. We had a van and were able to park in regular lot. I don't know where RVs park.

Improved museum map - The museum was HUGE and confusing. Very informative and I loved all the history it offered but there needs to be a better map guiding you through the museum.
