THIS is the cemetery tour you need in your life! - This tour was the absolute steal of my vacation. Our guide, Sally, is the foremost expert in symbolism and burial culture. She spoke with the depth of knowledge that connected the St. Louis cemetery to New Orleans' historic development. Having an explanation of all the intricate details that you see in the structures gave me a deeper appreciation for the cemetery. Knowing that everything Sally presented was thoroughly founded through genealogical study, archival research, and even personal interviews bestowed a confidence that these tiny facts were accurate and true. She literally WROTE THE BOOK on this subject. Side notes: This is cemetery #3. Madame Marie Laveau is buried in cemetery #1 and they are not within walking distance of each other. Also, all of the cemeteries are guarded, so entrance to the public is only allowed via tour or other event. If you are even remotely curious about the vaults and crypts in New Orleans, I highly recommend this tour with this guide, Sally. She is open, friendly, approachable, and very enthusiastic about your questions.

A very interesting morning spent with Sally - We had a very lovely and informative tour with Sally. It was a hot morning, and as a host, she was very lovely, offering us umbrellas if we needed them. Sally's knowledge is vast with no question unanswered. A published auther and member of many organisations linked to her interest in cemeteries. We would highly recommend this tour if you are visiting New Orleans. Thank you, Sally.

I'd return and would book her again. - If you want to tour any one of the cemeteries in New Orleans, you need to book your tour with Sally Asher of Red Sash Tours. She actually “wrote the book” on the history and significance of the cemeteries in New Orleans and other cities (plus other things). Her knowledge is endless and there isn’t a question she can’t answer about the subject. Highly recommended.

Amazing Stories of the Dead - I thoroughly enjoyed Sally’s Cemetery Tour! She was well-informed and entertaining and she went above and beyond to tell our group some amazing stories about a subject that she is clearly passionate about: THE DEAD! I’m a new tour guide myself and I’m doing research on the city that I’ve loved for years and I learned so many things that I can add to my own tours. We had a lady who was crazy about Tiana, the Disney character who is based on Leah Chase, a well-known New Orleans restauranteur who’s buried in St. Louis #3. Sally went out of her way to show us her gravesite and gave us extra time and attention at her site. In fact, Sally was such a good storyteller that I just bought one of her books!

Interesting, history-loving tour guide - Our guide Sally truly enjoys the history of New Orleans and trying to find out information that she can share with others. We learned a lot about the culture of New Orleans by taking this cemetery tour, and there were interesting stories she had found about some of the people buried here. We didn’t know what to expect, but both my husband and I learned a lot from this tour.
