The romance unfolds as the afternoon is spent exploring the memories of New Orleans’ antebellum past, admiring secluded mansions, and strolling along the brick-lined sidewalks. Its world-famous canopy of oak trees and characteristic gardens filled with hibiscuses, crepe myrtles, and angel trumpets make it one of New Orleans’ most picturesque neighborhoods. The Garden District has cast its spell.
The operator will share the history of the Garden District from the early 1800s. You will see multi-million-dollar local and celebrity antebellum mansions belonging to Sandra Bullock, John Goodman, Anne Rice, and featured in “American Horror Story” and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” Additionally, there is Lafayette Cemetery (since 1833), the St. Charles Ave. Streetcar (since 1835), Mardi Gras (since 1857), and Commander’s Palace Restaurant (since 1893). nolabig4c0m

New Orleans City Park - City Park - Established in 1854
City Park is as magical and unique as the city of New Orleans itself. This 1,300-acre outdoor haven has captivated New Orleanians since 1854, making it one of the nation’s oldest urban parks. The highlight of City Park is the world’s largest collection of mature southern live oaks, including a Grand Oak that is over 800 years old. These remarkable trees are known for their distinctive sculptural shapes, with some of the oldest having limbs twice as long as the tree is tall.
Visitors will also find the Museum of Art, Sculpture Gardens, Big Lake, Botanical Gardens, Children’s Museum, Amusement Park, Story Land, Miniature Golf, Café Du Monde (since 1862), and the Cypress Swamp from 1718, upon which New Orleans was built. nolabig4c0m
