Black Music/Lives Matter - THIS experience was my absolute favorite of all of my tours. Just learning the history about the Treme and the historical features of the music from the negro slaves to the croons, wails, and bellows of instruments these Black and Brown peoples put their hands and lips to was just awe inspiring. My tour guide was absolutely phenomenal in the way she tells the story of all that is featured in the park. The way she gave context really helped bring what we were seeing and hearing to life. She was very knowledgeable and made me want to return to New Orleans for another visit.

From London to Nola - Latoya is Amazing! Months on and I am still raving on about Tremè and Nola’s rich history. Very informative and everything and more you would expect from a Black History tour. My favourite was the Backstreet Museum which i returned back to after the tour and had a in depth tour of the museum. & Calas to WORLD! Make sure to stop off at the Noaam for a taste :)

Such a vibe and an unique experience - Latoya was incredible. We enjoyed learning the history of NOLA and the Treme neighborhood. The four was informative and we learned so much. I’m so grateful we had someone who was privy to the history and also understood the Black experience. Thank you LaToya!!!

Must see tour - Best tour I’ve been on in a while. Very informative. I think this gave me a different perspective on certain things in history that has happened vs what has been taught in schools. You need to experience and feel everything that was learned on this tour to really get a better idea of the history of NOLA.

As Must Do Treme Tour!! - It was a wonderful, upbeat, informative tour. We’d walked through that park and parts of Treme before but with Latanya sharing the rich history, culture and special nuances of New Orleans it made it an incredible experience.

A Powerful Experience Worth Recommending to Clients - As a travel agent, I’ve experienced numerous cultural tours, but Anansi’s Daughters’ Black History and Treme Neighborhood Tour stands out as one of the most enlightening and authentic experiences I’ve ever had. Our guide, Latoya, a native of New Orleans, masterfully blended factual history with compelling storytelling, bringing to life the deep African roots, French and Spanish influences of the 1700s, and the legacy of the indigenous peoples of Louisiana. Walking through the 6th and 7th Wards, Louis Armstrong Park, and the historic Treme neighborhood, we delved into the vibrant culture of the Black Masking Indians and their significance in the city’s tapestry. Latoya’s insights into local gems—cafes, museums, and monuments—added layers of depth to our journey. This tour isn’t just a walk through history; it’s an immersive experience that connects you to the soul of New Orleans. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a profound understanding of the city’s rich cultural heritage!

our saviour - Funny, we were late with my friend, so we missed the beginning hour and thought we lost our group, our money and time. But this very nice guide offered us help, and to stay with them, and we finally understood after a few minutes, that we were at the right place. She had many stories to share, with generosity and simplicity. This tour was a delight !
