It Happened Right Here - What a fascinating and educational tour with the a most lively and funny guide! Many “it happened right here” discussions. I had been by these places many times over the years and never knew the history. Greg brings photos and a small bluetooth speaker so that you can see and listen to stuff that he is talking about. Very worthwhile entertaining experience!

Super fun and interesting 🙌 - Thank you so much Greg for an amazing music and food tour. We loved all the quirky facts and musical references. The food stops were great and took us to places we wouldn’t have gone to if we didn’t go on the tour. Greg is a ball of energy and made the trip so fun from start to finish. He also is very knowledgeable about the area and all in all a 10/10 tour guide. A must do in NYC.

Greenwich inside out - Gorgeous, excellent, fantastic, or any positive and exquisite adjective to describe the afternoon spent with Greg. From NYC music historical places to typical eateries or coffee shops, Greg knows Greenwich like the back of his hand. It is worth the time and money to choose that guided visit.

Outstanding Educational Tour - (The dropdown requires selecting one of the food tours, but this review is for a special tour Greg Marro arranged for a group of college students to cover the important social and historical issues evident in a tour of the West, Greenwich and East Villages.) Each semester I arrange for some of my university students to attend an educational tour of the West Village with Greg Walks NYC. Mr. Marro does a tremendous job of taking social issues and making them come alive. This spring, he once again guided students from the site of the Stonewall Riots to the former location of Café Society, an integrated nightclub where Billie Holliday first performed "Strange Fruit, to the Triangle Shirt Factory memorial and many other important historical stops in between. With his talent for storytelling and vast information about and familiarity with the area, Greg dazzled the students. They really did not want the night to end. I offer his tour my highest praise and recommendation. It's an educational opportunity that changes lives. I know because I've seen it happen with my students.

Educational and fun - I'm a college adjunct at the University of Texas at Austin's NYC campus and teach a course about social issues in advertising and public relations. As part of the learning experience, I wanted to give students a field trip. After contacting Greg Marro, I knew that I'd made the perfect selection of a guide. He asked for the syllabus and worked to make sure the tour was educational, relevant to the course subject matter -- and yet still fun. Greg more than delivered. He beautifully wove the academic and interesting together. My students loved the experience -- Greg is a riveting storyteller. I'll definitely use Greg Walks NYC for future semesters!

Claire Warner - Wow! What a fabulous tour and and even more fabulous tour guide! Greg treated my class to a free tour. It was really cool to hear about all the Bob Dylan sights. He knows what he’s talking about!

Incredible introduction to Greenwhich Village - An incredibly interesting and enjoyable walking tour! Greg guided us to some captivating spots and shared fascinating anecdotes about music history. I especially loved the stories about artists from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. He took my girlfriend and me around Greenwich Village for about 2.5 hours, introducing us to fantastic restaurants and coffee shops along the way. Very tasty italian pastries, iconic NYC pizza, out of this world Cortado coffee! I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 because his devices (tablet, phone, bluetooth speaker) could have been better organized, making it easier for him to access the music and pictures he wanted to show us. He also gave us great tips regarding the city in general. E.g. regarding transportation, what music clubs or pubs to visit.

Cancelled at the Last Minute Due to Rain - I gave the tour 4 out of 5. We actually did not take the tour, but I was forced to give a rating to make comments. Greg cancelled the tour at 1:30 when it was supposed to start at 2:30 because it was raining. I told him we were willing to bring raincoats and umbrellas, and gut it out, but he was unwilling to make a go of it. We have taken many outdoor tours in the rain all over the world. My biggest problem with the cancellation was that it was too late to book any other tour for the Saturday afternoon we had in NYC. To be fair, Greg did issue a prompt refund.
