Fun on the ice - Excellent! My son had a lot of fun, even though he was a beginner. He found the maximum skating and the location could not be better. We went there after climbing the top of the rock. Amazing!

Ideal skating - If there's an iconic place to skate in NY... it's this. Located in the middle of the Rockefeller Center complex. Stuck to the famous Christmas tree. We came down the top of the rock, in the middle of the halls. We paid you something of 40 an hour per person. You can pay for the kids some kind of foot penguin. The track is not huge like others, but iconic and ideal for photos.

Bucket List Item ticked - We visited from the UK and booked online in advance knowing that the Christmas Tree Lights had been switched on the day before.
We chose the 23:10 slot for a couple of reasons. 1: so that it would be dark and the lights would be on 2: my partner has anxiety and not skated for years so hoped it would be quieter
ATMOSPHERE - the minute you see the iconic rink, tree and fountain you feel like a movie star and people are happy and feeling similar whilst on the ice. Some are nervous clinging to the edge and others are spinning around the ice. The part before getting on the ice felt little chaotic, You grabbed your hire skates and then there was a rush to find an empty locker and to work out how to actually lock it. The reason I say rush is because you feel like your time on the ice is ticking away due to the length of time it has taken to lace up and put your bags and shoes away. I managed to slice my finger open just holding the handrail on the decent to the check in and had to ask for a band aid!!!!
STAFF -the staff we came across were all friendly both on and off the ice
We were ushered of the ice at midnight and nobody knew what was going on but it soon became apparent there was a proposal which was magical but I was too short and we were too huddled together to see.
We had to wait for the ice machine to do its thing before being allowed back of the ice and as it was -6 we got a tad cold.
My partner would have enjoyed this more if there were penguins for adults to use which would have given her the confidence to let go of the side and get round the rink at least once.
ADMISSION FEE - was to be expected for a once in a lifetime experience to do something so iconic and make lasting memories, there are no spectacular views of the city from the rink but there is something magical about the tree and the statue and fountain that just makes you warm and glow inside.
Loved this experience skating with such an iconic view and great music too, yes the ice did get busy at times but its the holiday season and so many people were making memories on the ice.

Issues with tickets bought via Tripadvisor - experience itself was fun - Very iconic and romantic experience. The ice rink is small and pretty crowded, but it is all great fun. What bothered me was the fact that staff at the ice rink first refused to accept the tickets bought via Tripadvisor, claiming that Tripadvisor was a third party and that the tickets may be fake. It took a good deal of negotiation and convincing with several staff member until they let us on the ice rink. This is unacceptable, given that they distribute their tickets via Tripadvisor!

Great skating rink. Great tree! - We visited the Rockefeller Centre to have a look at the rink and the christmas tree.
It wasn't too busy either which was nice.
We had coffee and watched everyone skating, it starts at $22 to skate and the atmosphere is great with the music blaring.
The tree was covered in scaffolding ready for the big reveal and we missed it by a couple of days, but it still looked impressive.
Definitely worth a visit to the area.

An amazing visit to Rockefeller Center - The view from the viewpoint is simply spectacular. The audio guide helps to know its history and architecture. A must-see in New York.

It was fun. Christmas time is here. - Skates were bad but way a nice Christmas experience. Rink was crowded. We enjoyed skating by the tree and fountain. We would do it again. A good activity to get you in Christmas spirit.

Rental skates fit poorly and dull - Skates were terrible fit very loosely and were dull making it very difficult to even skate slowly. Could have been a nice experience.
