Amazing museum 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - This can only be a 5 star review. The intrepid is a sizeable beast that thank the lord someone decided many moons ago to save and make into a floating museum The museum allows people to touch try and enjoy some of the items within the museum. We spent about an hour and 30 minutes. The add on for photos are expensive. Mike the true “English man in New York” amazed us with his knowledge but also his real life experience within the “forces”!! Fantastic venue, a must do if in NYC

A unique museum - Beautiful experience not to be missed in New York, despite the many attractions that the "Big Apple" offers. The museum is inside a huge aircraft carrier, and consists of 4 sections: Flight Deck, Gallery Deck, Hangar Deck and Third Deck. Each offers its own special features, from warplanes to spacecraft, interactive experiences and simulators. Truly a unique museum!

You climb 3 very steep... - You climb 3 very steep ladders/stairs to get to the carrier control rooms; then you get out by going down one ladder BACKWARDS!

Worthwhile activity with lots to see but weather permitting. - We took the 1 hour tour to help us navigate some highlights. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. We arrived 1/2 hour early and did the flight deck first not knowing what the tour covered I wish I had gone up to the bridge in my extra time because that wasn’t covered. Also, the gun batteries on the side of the ship looked cool but weren’t included in the tour. You did get access to ride the plane elevator which was cool to experience. There is no charge to see the space explorer, and you only view the outside but the pavillion is cool and interesting to see We didn’t add submarine or virtual experience s but people seemed to enjoy them. We planned a two hour visit and we could have stayed much longer. Clean place, well organized, nice bathrooms and food options , parking is a challenge as the convenient parking across the highway is closed for renovation. The bridge across the highway is helpful and great views from that height.

Save your money. - Oh my goodness save your money. I am a retired military veteran and it’s an embarrassment what they have done here. The price of admission is ridiculous for what you get to see. I have toured many Navy ships and this one is the worst by far. You get to see a tiny fraction of the ship. Anyone with have a brain can see that some of the areas are staged and not real. The “mess hall” The officers quarters, The junior enlisted bunks. They haven’t used racks like that since it was built. If you want to see a great museum ship. Go to San Diego and get the Midway Museum. That one actually shows you the ship. Not some made up crap. The flight deck is mostly taken up by the space shuttle. So you go into the area and they want you to buy more crap.

Rude security staff and unable to view top deck which we paid for - Was looking forward to this museum. Highly recommended by a tour guide, looked great from the street. Booked tickets online night before for 11am. Arrived at 10.50am to be told the top deck was closing at 11am - no explanation - just yelled at to leave top deck as deck was closing. Top deck was going to be the highlight for us to view the space shuttle Enterprise. Security staff extremely rude. Would've been great if we had been able to view what we paid for. Rip off - watch out all.
