Remnants of Dutch NY is a must do tour. Well researched and great delivery. - It was a very hot day, but I wasn’t going to miss the tour because of it. So glad I did it. Richard was the guide and it was obvious he had done research on the subject. We covered a lot of information and ground. What was so great was his enthusiasm for the time period and how much history and remnants are still around. People know about the Gilded Age but there’s not a lot of exposure for this time. Loved it.

New Yorker on a NY Tour - I'm a history buff and love exploring and learning about my own city whenever I can. This tour caught my eye from a New Yorker magazine article and it lived up to the recommendation. It was a hot day but the guide did her best to move us along through the shade and sun. So many interesting stories about early NY I never knew, fascinating period of our history as a country. And your downtown so plan to make a day of it after the tour!

Good introduction to the... - Good introduction to the hidden history of New York City. The guide gave us relevant maps and recreated the 17th century town.

Richard Soden: Excellent Guide - Richard Soden, our guide, gave us everything we came for and more. Wanted to see any remaining traces of the Dutch in New York, he found all the hidden ones and taught us many, other things around the topic. We already had a background in Dutch NY but he revealed places we never would have found. His knowledge about NYC history in general gave added meaning to our main interest in Dutch history.

Great journey back in time to Dutch New Amsterdam - This walking tour was fun and so informative. Our guide, Justin, shared a wealth of information through stories, explanations of what we were seeing and of what had been there before. This all made the history come alive. This was a unique and rewarding way to spend a couple of hours. Highly recommend for tourists or New Yorkers.

Awesome tour! well worth the time! - The tour was awesome! Having deep New Amsterdam roots herself, Mandy our guide brought characters and places from 400 years ago back to life. Her modern day insight and deep historical knowledge provided a great perspective and balance of the good and not so good events. Because of the time we spent with her I have a much better understanding of my past and the past we all share because of this little island. Congrats to a job well done by Untapped New York and I would highly recommend their tours. I will make it a point to call on them again when in the area. The problem is which tour is next!

Good info but a bit lackluster. - Hard to hear. So much background noise, even with the ear pieces. Interesting information but it wasn’t as concise or clear as we would have liked. Not enough time for everyone to see the pictures being passed around.

Good idea, but not much info on NYC on this tour, more on the guide herself - Great tour if you want to find out about the guide - I now know all about her education, where she lives, her friends, which parties she went to, her ancestry and on and on and on. Ostensibly, this was related to the tour, but... I would have much rather learned about New York then listened to stories about the guide's background (it was entertaining for the first 10 seconds, but not for the full 2 hours).
