A great combo tour of two important landmarks in our history. - This was a lovely historical walking tour of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Annie knew her stuff and made it fun and interesting to learn old and new information. A great way to spend the day with my mom whose grandparents emigrated through Ellis Island.

Excellent tour that makes the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island meaningful and memorable - Michael gave us a fantastic tour, with rich information about the history of the statue of Liberty and more. I was surprised to hear my eight-year-old switch from saying "Ellis Island" to "Little Oyster Island," in one of his recountings of the experience. We learned a lot! As the travel planner, I was able to take a true vacation and hand over the scheduling worries to the guide, which is another sign that the tour was wonderful. I lost track of time and took a vacation myself! As a novice to the city, I was worried about finding the starting point. It turns out that a large number of train lines connect quite near the plaza where the tour begins. I strongly recommend booking the tour and catching an early train to the start. The trains can be paid for without any extra apps on your iPhone, if you have Apple Wallet, or with a contactless credit card. (Couldn't be easier.) You can grab coffee and some breakfast nearby, without necessarily sitting down, and you'll be ready for the day. As you make your decision about this experience, you'll have to choose between climbing to the pedestal and/or crown or taking this tour. I would vote for the tour. There is a free playground near the exit for the ferry, along with a cool merry go around that charges $6 per person, where younger people can work off any extra energy after the tour. Overall, this experience was worth every penny. The museums and statue will mean so much more with the help of the guide. Oh--and in a small detail that I value, Michael steered the eight-year-old to the best souvenir machine: the one that has the copper-looking commemorative coins in the café, not the numerous machines with gold-looking coins that cost more and look plasticky. Whatever you want out of this trip, I think you're more likely to get it with a guide.
