Good view of the Statue of Libery and descriptions of sights on the shore. Boat was overcrowded. - The announcer was entertaining and we did see the Stature of Liberty. However, there were way too many people on the boat :(. A sign on the boat read "Maximum 110 passengers". However, there were more than 200 people on the boat. People were packed on the deck behind the railings. We don't know how many life jackets were available. Thankfully we didn't need them. For an additional $20, passengers could sit on the top deck rather than cram down below. Overall, I would have chosen a different cruise with fewer people.

Awful. Unsafe & misleading - It was simply awful. Overcharged from the get go. Put on a bus & was told the cruise departed at 3.15. Not true - actually departure time was 4pm. Boat was late & then by the time the loaded simply too many people on board it was 5pm before we left. Advertised at an hour but it only lasted 45mins & the doing the talking was terrible as well. Getting off was a a disaster & there were a lot of grumbling passengers. Wish we’d read the reviews first. Need to be more honest, go on time, take less people & improve the attitude of staff.

The worst experience ever - The worst experience I’ve ever had. I do not recommend, terrible crew, lack of organization, for sure not worth spending 55$ on this trip.

SCAM - avoid! - We were at Battery park planning to get the staten island ferry, when a tour guide told us that the ferry would involve a lot of queues and poor views. However after we bought the cruise tickets they then walked us to a bus which took 20 mins to get to pier 40 (no AC) and then a 30min wait for the boat! We were told it would cost $39 each but credit card was charged $59 each. Complete scam - get the ferry instead!!

Utter SCAM - SCAM SCAM SCAM Get the FREE ferry instead, don't be scammed by these people. Were told the tickets were £39 dollars each, ended up being charged £240 dollars for four tickets due to "taxes". Sales person told us the free Statten Island Ferry was ONLY for commuters, not tourists. Told us it was a two hour trip anyway, and that it went in the opposite direction to the Statue. This was all lies. The free ferry goes as close to the Statue as this £240 ferry. The sales guy got pretty shirty with us when we questioned the price, and then got us an "escort" who walked us for 15 minutes to a BUS stop where we had to then catch a bus to the boat dock at pier 40. Hung around looking for a tip! Boat was run down. Did NOT stop at the Statue to allow pictures as we were told, and did NOT go under the Brooklyn Bridge, as we were old it would. COMPLETE and utter scam. Sales guy pretended he was doing us a favour by "adding on" a free bus tour ticket, but this is actually part of the ticket price and by the time the boat trip finished the buses were stopped for the day anyway! Absolute scam, avoid this!!!

Liberty Cruises overcharged my credit card and wont get back to me to fix - Liberty Cruise representative selling tickets to day trip quoted one price to me and then charged my credit card almost double from what was quote. he then held the receipt until he loaded us on the bus to take us to the pier. I notified Liberty immediately upon seeing the receipt on the bus and they responded they would look into it, I have since asked 3 times for an update and they stopped responding. Do not use this company, they are not ethical and have stolen from me.

Cheating cruise - ⭐☆☆☆☆ Scam Alert – Liberty Cruise is a Tourist Trap Operating in Broad Daylight! We had a shocking and infuriating experience that every visitor to New York City needs to be warned about. We arrived at the Battery Park entrance to take the official Statue of Liberty ferry, but were immediately flagged down by people posing as parking assistants. The moment we stopped the car, a man claiming to be a staff member approached, said Battery Park was closed (a complete lie), and without hesitation, sold us 5 tickets at $59 each, then directed us to Pier 40. When we got there, we were horrified to discover this was not the official ferry, but a sketchy, rusted boat run by a group that felt more like a frightening mob than a tour company. The boat, calling itself “Liberty Cruise,” was unsafe, unclean, and had zero affiliation with the official ferry service. They even demanded an extra $20 per person for access to the upper deck — cash only. The ride was just a 15-minute loop around the Statue of Liberty, with no access to Liberty Island or Ellis Island, which is what most tourists expect. We felt completely cheated, misled, and robbed. ⚠️ DO NOT stop your car at the entrance of Battery Park. These scammers lie, impersonate officials, and block your access to the legitimate government ferry. ⚠️ Only buy tickets online or inside the official terminal. To make matters worse, I firmly believe that some NYC officials may be turning a blind eye — or even benefiting from this scam. Otherwise, how can such blatant fraud happen right outside a government-run terminal in broad daylight, without consequences? This operation not only cheats innocent tourists, but also brings a bad name to the honest residents of New York. It’s time the city stepped in and shut this scam down once and for all.

Avoid this one! - One of the worst sightseeing tours I’ve done. Very scammy sales tactics, upselling at every turn. It was supposed to be 35.- per person, ended being 60.-. We expected the boat to be “right there” but had to wait 30m for a bus to take us somewhere else where we waited another half hour.
