Great Way to see Villefranche-sur-Mer (NOT all of Nice) - This double-decker bus tour is only about 1.5 hours long from start to finish, and I know that may feel short given the price. However, the short tour duration allowed me to take the loop twice, once to find out where everything was, and again to relax and enjoy the scenery. For me, the biggest benefit was that it takes you to all the main tourist areas with hop-on/hop-off flexibility. I used it as transportation to get from Old Town Nice to Villefranche-sur-Mer (it was still cheaper than a round-trip taxi ride). It also goes to the main train station and the sea port.
I loved the narrated tour on board. Earphones are provided if you didn't bring your own, and the tour is available in over 7 different languages. The roads the bus takes offer incredible views of the Nice port and Villefranche-sur-Mer from the hillside. I had amazing weather, so sitting on the upper deck was exhilarating. I feel I got my value for the money with the narrated tour, the wonderful views, and the ability to get to Villefranche-sur-Mer easily. I found this tour helpful for getting your bearings in Nice.
That being said, it is NOT a fully comprehensive tour of ALL of Nice, so it might not be for everyone. Note: if you sit on the right side of the upper deck while the bus is on Promenade des Anglais, you might get smacked by low hanging leaves on the palm trees lining the street. Be sure to duck.

Nice Open Top Bus Tour - Excellent way to discover the sights of Nice and Ville Franche Sur Mer. Would definitely recommend as good way of getting around and to locate where everything of interest is.

Round Trip - As we had previously seen the open top buses around Nice, we decided to go on one.
We joined the tour at Quai des Etats Unis, were given headsets and took our seats on the top deck. There were several languages available on the commentary. We found that very advantageous, giving perfect views of the places described on the headsets. This is certainly the best way to see parts of Nice and the area one probably couldn't get to by oneself. The tour went round Nice and on to Villefranche-sur-mer, where there were historic sights and views down to the harbour. We then went back to Nice, round by the port and back to the starting point, lasting about one and a quarter hours. A very enjoyable tour and certainly worth doing. We didn't Hop-off Hop-on, but several people on the tour did.

Very nice way to see the city - Good experience. We got off at a very good stop to have a great lunch and shopping.

Affordable, well organized option to an Uber. - This is a very affordable, well organized loop around Nice and the surrounding area. A simple Uber ride to some of the Destinations would cost you more than the price of the day long ticket. I went around one time and enjoyed the commentary and then stopped at the port for lunch and then stopped again for some pictures in old town. I did, however, for the first time ever lose my red bus ticket and despite having the day pass electronic ticket on my phone was advised that I needed to have the piece of paper when I tried to re-board the third time.

Bad Shore Excursion Option - We booked this as part of a shore excursion on a cruise. If you're in Nice and not on a cruise, then this might have been fun! However, the description on the Cruise site for this excursion leaves out a few details.....
There is no mention of the hour long (each way) bus ride with a stop at the highway rest area to use the bathroom.
They do mention that we would have plenty of time to stroll the local area and be able to visit the shops. They gave us 20 minutes TOTAL to shop and walk back to the train from where the bus had to park which was nowhere near the train.
After the hour drive back, we had 10 minutes to catch the last tender to the ship.
In hind sight, as a cruise excursion, this is a terrible option, we would have been much better off just hanging in Cannes and visiting that town.

Good but not great - The bus tour overall was great, however the bus drove past us twice and didn’t stop at the same place as it did earlier in the day so we had a 1/2 mile walk back

Be warned - poor signage and not enough buses and space - I have been on lots of hop on hop off buses in various countries and this was not good .
Luke others have said the bus stops are not marked so you don’t know you are at the correct place , also not many buses and we waited an hour for one that when it did finally come - station 4 on the map , it was full and we were unable to get on the bus . Once on the bus the journey its self is good but we did not get off as we’re unsure if there would be space to get back on , or find the bus stop . Viator do not give you a map , so I had to go on the main hop on website to find where I thought the bus would be , then even had to ask in a shop that I was on the correct side of the road , which I was not .

Shambles - What an absolute shambles if a service! Firstly the driver who took the payments. Moaned to everyone paying with cash and gave no change if you didn’t have the exact money! Nowhere was it advertised that it was card payment only! And who pockets the Euros that were over paid by numerous passengers?!? Because trust me this service did not deserve a sneaky tip!! So we got on at stop 9 in Villafrance after a 50 minute wait for the bus. We managed to get an upstairs seat after 2 stops and then the 3rd stop in we were all kicked off the bus to join another queue on the other side of the road!! This time we managed to squeeze a seat downstairs!!! What sense did this make!! We lost out on a seat we had queued already got to now have to queue again to get a worse seat! Staff are rude and unhelpful and the cost of the tour is overpriced for the shambles it all is!!! Avoid this company like the plague!!
