Experience a magical moment with us: the Etna Sunset, while enjoying a delightful snack of typical Sicilian products, water, and red Etna wine.
During the winter season, due to low temperatures, the outdoor picnic will be replaced with a lunch featuring pizza or traditional products in a charming chalet.
The tour will be conducted in Italian and English, with options for French and Spanish upon request.
- Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there is not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund
- English and Italian guide are always available, French and Spanish are subject to availability. Upon booking, we will confirm you if the language required is available.
- Guests need to wear trekking shoes and bring a jacket. We can provide trekking shoes and jackets for free at the moment of the booking if requested.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- May be operated by a multi-lingual guide
- Please advise any specific dietary requirements at time of booking

What a wonderful experience! - The view was spectacular, it feels like Mars. Beautiful, I highly recommend to also see a beautiful sunset from the refuge. Very honest prices, the girls at the desk Laura and Samuela, extremely available and precise. Our guide Andrea was fantastic!
I recommend to all those who want to try a different experience!

The tour was the best parts of our holiday! - Me and my partner had a really great time and we enjoyed the tour. What we saw was amazing and interesting and absolutely worth the money. We also got dinner that was delicious.
The guide was really well-prepared and helpful and friendly, and we learnt a lot of interesting facts about Etna.

Sunset Tour with guide Teresa - We took a private Etna Sunset Tour with our guide Teresa last month and it was absolutely amazing. It certainly was the highlight of our vacation in Sicily. Seeing the Etna by sunset was just breathtaking and a really unique experience that we'd recommend to everyone. Teresa was a wonderful guide, she has a ton of knowledge to share about the volcano and had answers to all of our questions. We really learned a lot! She is also very enthusiastic and has a true passion for her work, which makes it all the more enjoyable for us. 5 stars!

Great experience, fantastic guide - Amazing trip, Janet was a great guide and knew so so much about the volcano and everything around it. Standing on 2000 meters was a experience i’ll never forget. When we went to the park to watch the sunset we had a beautiful moment there. Inspiring visit. :)
The only downside was the food, it was just a little plain for my tastes.

Amazing experience ! - We participated in Etna Sunset Experience my mother, my sister and I and we can only recommend!
We had a wonderful day. Our guide picked us up from our place. He had a great knowledge and everything was so interesting. He was nice and made everyone in the group feel at ease. He knew many languages, he spoke French to us. I particularly remember his passion. Since it was a long time ago (summer 2018), I don't remember his name at all unfortunately but I think he had glasses. Also he sang to us a song during the car trip from Catania to Etna ! Very great moment !
We visited a volcanic cave and had many moments when we could enjoy a stunning view. Mount Etna is very beautiful, with its lunar-like landscapes !
Overall, Etna Experience was great. Communication was easy and they are very reactive on WhatsApp. We also could choose our diet since we can't eat meat.
(We were told not so long ago that our guide could be Vincenzo but we are not sure)

If you want to detach... this is for you! - It was a last minute thing and thank god I did it. I've been on Mount Etna before during the day so I wanted to experience it differently. Everyone has his/her own reasons to detach from the chaotic life and Etna's landscapes can provide you with that. Today Janet was our guide, a brilliant and knowladgable Geologist who made the tour not just a common one but her own passion for her job made all of us feel connected with Etna and its history. The sunset was a sight on its own. Be prepared to trek but trust me, once you see that massive ball of light disappear in the horizon it will leave you mesmerised.

Amazing half-day tour full of great experiences! - We just had this tour yesterday (on 30th of November with 20+ degrees in Catania)! It was an amazing 5-hour trip with great guide Maritius (I hope we got his name correctly). Hiking on Etna and visit at the caves were totally new experience to us. Followed by vegetarian snacks (thank you, they were delicious!) + red wine, in the light of the sunset and with the view to Etna ... it was simply breath-taking! Thank you again to guide and the whole Etna Experience team!

Catania - We have been in a Sunset Tour in October. Luckily we had a perfect weather for this tour. Our guide was Denise. She is the greatest, most amazing guider ever. I recommend them, it was a professionly orginazed tour. I am greatful. Thank you Etna Experience. Thank you Denise.

Great tour! - We drove up Etna with seven people and our amazing guide Salva. He is working on his PhD in geology, so of course he was very knowledgeable and could explain every single rock we saw during the excursion. The vulcanic cave was also interesting, and we walked around a crater at 2000 metres.
It would have been five stars if our nutritional info (vegetarian/vegan) would have been passed on to the guide, who bought the pastries for the picknick.
Also, our advice for participants is to check your e-mail frequently the day before departure. In our case, the start was moved to 30 minutes earlier and we were notified by e-mail the evening before, asking us to confirm. We didn't read this and only heard about the change when we got a call at the time we should have been at the meeting point - please use the participants' phone numbers earlier!
All in all, we definitely recommend this trip. The food and wine were delicious, and the information our guide provided was very interesting. He also used an ipad to draw sketches of what happens inside a volcano and we actually learned something. It's a great way to experience Etna. The photos only give a rough impression because my camera is not good - the sunset over the clouds was amazing.
