- Craters Silvestri of Mount Etna - From the starting point, the guide will immediately immerse participants in the lunar landscape of Etna, highlighting its lava flows and unique “buttonhole” craters, some of which have been central to recent volcanic activity.
- Mount Etna - The journey will progress gradually, increasing in altitude, allowing participants to admire the elegant endemic flora and native fauna, both within and outside the forested areas rich in tree species of the high-mountain belt, of Europe’s most active volcano.
- Valle Del Bove - The trek will traverse sandy deserts, small depressions, and vegetation typical of lava deserts, accompanied by an incredible panorama that will leave participants breathless, culminating in the most majestic and fascinating caldera depression, the “Valle del Bove”.
This surreal view offers a panorama rich in elements surrounding this privileged area; from the summit area of the active craters to the Ionian Sea, where cities of Greek origin have thrived since ancient times, and from the Italian mainland, Calabria, to the Tyrrhenian Sea, it will be thrilling to see, on clear days, the Strait of Messina.
- Mount Etna - This stage, referred to as the “Soft-challenge,” will be thrilling and equally enjoyable, as participants experience sinking their legs and feet into the fine and soft lava sand, illustrating the volume of sand the volcano emits during its paroxysms.
- Grotta Cassone - Finally, the trek will include a spectacular descent into the heart of the volcano with a visit to a lava flow cave (lava tube), formed during a volcanic eruption. Equipped with a speleologist helmet and torches, participants will gain insight into the phenomena associated with lava flow, as well as the myths, legends, and historical traditions related to the caves.
