We had the best tour guide Huascar - Huascar was our guide. He did an incredible job timing everything so perfectly to avoid crowds and we learned so much about Nicaragua, history, and just the day to day. He made us feel very welcomed and answered all of our questions!

Huascar, Nicaragua’s official tour guide - Huascar was a fantastic guide! He needs to be the official guide of Nicaragua. I learned so much about this beautiful country because of him. He made my solo trip one to remember. Thank you Huascar!!

Marlene (guide) and... - Marlene (guide) and Manuel (driver) were awesome on my volcano tour. Marlene is super knowledgeable and very nice. They were on time and very professional throughout my experience, even adjusting around the schedule as the sun set a bit sooner than expected on my tour date. It’s always a joy to learn a bunch and I certainly did and had a great time. It should be noted magma is not currently visible but that doesn’t take away from a great experience

Ask for Huascar - Huascar was polite, thoughtful had a lovely manner and most importantly knew lots of history and information about the volcano that he shared with clarity. He answered all our questions. He had excellent English and a good sense of humour. Thanks for a great few hours.

Not much to see - My guide was Alfredo, and the driver was Mario; they were both very nice. This is a private tour. We visited the museum at Masaya Crater Park first, and there's a bathroom if you need it. Then we took a short hike to the fumaroles lookout. It was a very uneven path going there, but a much smoother path walking back to the parking area. At the rim of the volcano there are three viewing platforms. It's a timed visit, so you aren't there for very long. There was a rock slide inside the crater so it is pretty difficult to see anything.

A late volcano night tour with no visible lava activity and no sunset - The information about the execution of the tour was absolutely correct. We were picked up directly from our hotel at 16:00 by a small bus and driven to the collection point. There we were driven directly towards Masaya Volcano. After passing the entrance gate, we parked briefly at a cold lava field from the last eruption and were able to look directly at the lava there on site. Afterwards we continued to the fumaroles, where we briefly paused and could feel the hot steam. Afterwards we continued to the museum. The Fuhrer's remarks in the museum were very, very detailed. Meanwhile it was 5:15. at 5:45 pm we finally took the bus to the volcano. When we were finally up, of course, night had fallen and nothing of the surroundings and closer things could be seen. We had hoped for a nice sunset, just as the description was. The observation deck, which is very nicely laid out, did not allow a view into the lava, one could only see a dark, orange glow at 300 m depth. That's all it was. A night tour on the volcano with a view of the lava we had imagined totally different. A second time we would not book this night tour again. It's better if you go to the volcano yourself at your own time for five dollars admission per person. The friendliness of the official security guards is very positive. They told us a lot about the volcano themselves, which had nothing to do with the tour itself.

Meh - Underwhelming. You don’t really see all that much and only have about 10min with the crater. Pictures (even my own pictures) are way more impressive than the actual experience. You’ll spend ~1h in line waiting to go up for just 10min of average views. If you want a nice picture for social bragging: go ahead. If you want an actual nice experience: don’t. Finally, I booked and paid a premium for this to be a private pickup, but the company just picked me up with other people in the bus. So no idea why I paid that premium price. Felt tourist trappy.

Probably the most expensive 10 minutes of my life! - 3 hours in total from being picked up, so a lot of driving, queuing and waiting and actually only allowed at the volcano for 10 minutes! If you want to see it, then combine it with other activities.
