Wonder of Nature - Well worth the trip with a Guide. A tip i reccomend is to book the 4pm trip to get there for twilight and see the crater just before and after sunset (time of year depending). Thete is limited time at the crater due to rising gases with health and safety paramount. Visibility can be pot luck if the day is cloudy or windy that can blow gas so suggest to book as close to the day you forsee cpuld produce a clear evening. Mother nature however will prevail.

“More Than a Tour — A Truly Unforgettable Experience” - Email Subject TripAdvisor Review – Nica Travel and Tours There are experiences you book… and then there are experiences that stay with you forever. Bringing groups to Nicaragua is something I take very seriously, because my clients are not just clients — they are friends and extended family. From the moment we connected with Marlene and the team at Nica Travel and Tours, I knew we were in good hands. We booked the Masaya Volcano excursion, and it exceeded every expectation. Watching my group stand there in absolute awe, seeing the glowing crater and taking in something so powerful and raw — that is a moment I will never forget. Not a single person was disappointed. In fact, they were blown away. Huqscar and Manny were exceptional guides — knowledgeable, passionate, patient, and genuinely proud of their country. They didn’t just guide us; they educated us and made us feel connected to Nicaragua. Our driver navigated the traffic, hills, and unpredictability of the roads with such calm professionalism that we felt completely safe the entire time. What truly sets this company apart is the heart behind what they do. They care. They listen. They anticipate. They even suggested an incredible restaurant on the way back to the hotel (which, I have to admit, was better than the resort food!). It was the perfect ending to an already unforgettable day. I cannot wait to bring my next group back, and I would recommend Nica Travel and Tours without hesitation to my clients, friends, and family. To Marlene and the entire team — thank you. You made memories that will last a lifetime, and we will absolutely see you again.

A lovely tour with a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. - We were picked up from our Airbnb and taken to Laguna de Apoyo. After a few hours we were picked up for our Masaya volcano tour. Both our driver and our guide Alberto were excellent. We first went to the museum where Alberto explained both the relevant history and geology, followed by a 20 minute uphill hike along a well trodden path to Mirador Fumarolas. The views and scenery are amazing, especially at sunset and sturdy shoes are recommended. Our hike back led us to a car parking area where we rejoined our minibus and waited for our ‘time slot’ to go to the crater Santiago, where we were allowed to stay for a set amount of time (cc 10/15mins) as set by the park. The view and whole experience was incredible! Overall the trip was well worth it made not just by what we saw, but on the enthusiasm and knowledge of Alberto. Thank you!!

Amazing to see the volcano. - Great trip but did not expect the strong small and choking gas. None of the tours mentioned it , but you need to be aware if you have chest problems such as asthma

No lava, only a red glow - You should advise we don't see lava any more, but only a red glow. Kind of a stress with all this vehicles rushing te be the first on top and first to go back, so it's not really dark when you get up there. Could be better to be the lasts
