Cape Range National Park - Guests are collected from their accommodation between 8:00-8:30 am. The journey begins with a stop at our meeting point to prepare for the overnight trek, followed by a drive to Cape Range National Park. A brief pause at Milyering Visitor Centre is scheduled before the trek commences. At the starting location, a safety briefing is conducted, and backpacks are adjusted for comfort.
The trek starts alongside the scenic Yardie Creek Gorge. As the group ascends the Range, they should watch for the rare Black Flanked Rock Wallabies and the diverse bird species inhabiting the area. Soon, breathtaking views of Ningaloo Reef and Cape Range unfold in the distance.
The day is spent exploring the upper areas of Yardie Creek, eventually reaching the top of the Range to set up camp.
Ningaloo - Camp
After setting up camp and preparing meals, the evening is spent observing Humpback Whales and enjoying the sunset’s vibrant colors. This night in the remote part of Western Australia, atop Cape Range with views of Ningaloo Reef and the Indian Ocean under the Milky Way, will be unforgettable.
Day 2 | 8 Kilometres
Ningaloo Reef - With the sunrise, a hearty breakfast is enjoyed before continuing the adventure. The trek descends through ancient wave-cut sandstone terraces, crossing coastal plains where Western Grey Kangaroos, Dingoes, or the elusive Short Beaked Echidna might be spotted.
After crossing the coastal dunes, it’s not long before the group is swimming in the refreshing, clear waters of the Ningaloo lagoon. The journey continues with a beach-combing walk along the pristine coastline, leading back to the vehicle that will safely return everyone to Exmouth.
