- Al Hoota Cave - Al Hoota Cave, estimated to be over 2 million years old, is situated at the base of Jebal Shams, Oman’s awe-inspiring grand canyon.
This remarkable natural wonder boasts an impressive ecosystem, including four lakes, the largest stretching 800 meters. These underground waters are home to Garra Barreimiae, a rare species of blind fish. The cave is a biodiversity treasure trove, hosting a variety of creatures such as mouse tail bats, hunting spiders, Arabian toads, wadi racer snakes, and more.
As the only underground attraction of its kind in the Arabian Peninsula, Al Hoota has been thoughtfully developed and responsibly managed to highlight and share Oman’s natural wonders with the public. Its broad appeal attracts nature and adventure enthusiasts, day-trippers, and special interest groups to the A’Dakhiliyah region.

Visitors will experience the following:
- Falaj: The oldest water channels in the area, dating back over 1,000 years.
- Farms: Archaeological evidence indicates these irrigation systems were designed to water farmlands as early as 2,500 BC.
- Cafe: Enjoy a cup of coffee amidst the farms at a coffee shop called “Rogan” - Inclusive.
- Bait Al Safah - Bait Al Safah is one of the first living museums in the country, offering genuine interaction with locals. This sustainably renovated mud house is located at the edge of Al Hamra’s lush gardens. The attraction is remarkable for preserving everything as it was, making a visit to its many rooms feel like stepping into a time capsule.
