- Nizwa - Nizwa is renowned for its silver jewelry, which is considered to be the best in the country. The people of Nizwa are masters in Khanjar making, recognized for its distinctive style and patterns, and noted for silver craftsmanship in general. They also make copper ware, coffee pots, swords, leather goods and pottery.
- Jabrin - Jabrin, also known as Jabreen, the town is known for its impressive castle, which was built by the Yaruba dynasty Imam Bil’arab bin Sultan, who ruled from 1679 to 1692 and who was buried on site.
- Bahla Fort - Bahla is a UNESCO World Heritage Site town, located 40 km away from Nizwa, and about 200 km from Oman’s capital Muscat which lies in the Ad Dakhiliyah region of Oman. It is notable as the home of one of the oldest fortresses in the country, the 13th century Bahla Fort and the town’s pottery.

Nizwa Bakhla and Jebel Shams: tour guide Khalid AlRaqadi - We started early in the morning and finished late in the evening. It was our first day, and we got to see a lot. The forts were absolutely beautiful, and we really enjoyed exploring them. We also bought a lot of delicious dates.
Later, we went to Jebel Shams, which was absolutely wonderful! The views were breathtaking, even though the road up there was a bit scary haha. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and we’d definitely recommend it!
Our tour guides were Khalid AlRaqadi and Youssef, and they contributed greatly to our tour. I believe that one of the reasons our tour was so wonderful was because we had such excellent tour guides

Nizwa Bakhla and Jebel Shams: tour guide Khalid AlRaqadi - Our experience with Khalid AlRaqadi as our tour guide in Nizwa was truly exceptional. From the moment we met him, it was clear that he is not just a guide but a genuinely kind, friendly, and respectful person. His approach is so natural and his passion for what he does really shows.
The information he shared about Nizwa (and Bakhla) was fascinating. Tour guides can sometimes overwhelm you with too many unnecessary details, making things feel boring, but that was definitely not the case with Khalid. He knew exactly what to share to keep us engaged and interested. When we asked for recommendations on where to buy the best dates, he immediately took us to the perfect spot, which we really appreciated.
Throughout the tour, his teammate Youssef was also there, always present in helpful way, making sure everything went smoothly. Khalid and Youssef made our Nizwa tour not just informative but also enjoyable and effortless. Their knowledge, kindness, and ability to create a comfortable atmosphere made this tour an unforgettable experience. If you’re looking for guides who truly care about your experience, we highly recommend them!

Must do in Muscat - You HAVE to do this tour if you are in Muscat. The forts are stunning. We had an amazing time with our driver/guide Aziz who did a fantastic job creating a perfect day.

Experience history in a day trip from Muscat - Had an amazing day visiting Nizwa Fort & Souq, Bahla Fort, and Jabreen Castle. All 3 were very different and a good mix of culture and history. Our tour guide Said Al Kiyumi, was very knowledgeable and took excellent care of us. Thank you!

Amazing Day Tour to Nizwa and Jebel Shams - Had a great tour of Nizwa and Jebel Shams. The views from Jebel Shams were stunning and is called the Grand Canyon of Oman. Aziz was an amazing guide and drove extremely well to get us to the right spots in challenging terrain.

Wonderful Day Exploring Nizwa - We had had a fantastic day exploring the forts and castles around Nizwa. Our guide, Ahmed, was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. In addition to explaining the various historical sites, Ahmed enthusiastically shared so many interesting insights into the Omani culture. We have a much better understanding and appreciation for this incredible country. Planning was very easy, logistics worked perfectly, and we had a great overall experience. We’d highly recommend Star Tour Oman and would strongly suggest asking for Ahmed!

Best Guide - Thankyou Sunshine Tours and Amer for showing us around Oman and all its wonders. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour in a relaxed atmosphere with amazing kind patience and care from wonderful Amer. Nothing was too much trouble and he went out of his way to give us such an amazing experience! A special touch was his homemade Omanian coffee and dates he brought from his home everyday.
We leave Oman with more knowledge and understanding and truly can’t recommend our guide and tour enough.
