There was much to learn... - There was much to learn at Nizwa Fort and the views of Nizwa Canyon are impressive. Comfortable transportation.

A Great Day! - I'm really glad I selected this tour. It was a beautiful, fun, and relaxing day, and everything went perfectly well and as expected based on the descriptions and reviews. Our guide Wadd was superior. I don't use WhatsApp so he took the time to communicate with me through the Viator app, and he was right on time in picking me up at my hotel. Wadd was kind and generous throughout the trip and never pressured us to hurry up, even though I think we were a bit slow and took a ton of photos. There were only three of us in the group so we were all comfortable in his 4x4 car. The scenery was gorgeous, and I learned a lot about Omani history at Fort Nawaz and the other historical sights we saw. The Khubz Ragag bread we tried at the fort was delicious. A must-try if possible. Our lunch was very good too. The mountains of Jebel Akhdar are lovely. You can clearly see the geologic forces that shaped them. I enjoyed stopping at the Al-Sharif Museum and seeing the beautiful views from the cafe deck there. I can highly recommend this great day tour and GidOman.

Interesting and fun trip - A fun and interesting trip, enhanced considerably by our guide, Ali (Gid Oman), who was informative, attentive and great company. We did the trip during Ramadan which had pros and cons: places were maybe a little quieter but it also meant lunch was provided discreetly and on the move rather than in a restaurant which would have been nice. But don't let this put you off; Oman is a spectacular country and the people warm and hospitable.

Long trip but much to see - Mohamann was very informative and patient whilst showing us the beauty of his country. Nizwa was bustling and the fort so interesting but the highlight for me was the natural beauty of the Green Mountains. Thank you

Really enjoyable trip with a professional company. - As part of a small group, led through the day by an experienced and fun local guide, this trip was so enjoyable. Would really recommend Gidoman for trips. This was the second of two trips I booked and found the company to be very professional, great communication prior and great guides.

Day trip to Nizwa and Green Mountains - We had a great day out with Ahmed he was very amusing and told us about Omani life! We particularly enjoyed Nizwa fort. Worth noting during Ramadan lunch is not included (just a small snack) but there is no discount to the price!

Information a little thin on the ground… - We had a lovely day thanks to the couple who we shared this trip with - our guide was very nice but not as informative as I would have liked; Nizwa souq was interesting as was the fort (but we learned a lot more about the fort at the Bait Al-Zubair Museum in Old Muscat!), great views from Jebel Akhdar but not much else.

Beautiful Destinations, But a Deeply Disappointing Guide - I honestly don’t even know where to begin. Our tour guide was scheduled to pick us up at 8:20am, but he (Mohammad Ali) got lost on his way to the hotel and couldn’t locate the entrance to the resort — despite there only being one entrance. That immediately set the tone for the day. When he finally picked up my sister and me, there was another guest in the car, and we were hopeful the experience would improve. Unfortunately, it did not. During the drive to the first site, there was no context or commentary about the areas we were passing through. While that alone would not have been a major issue, things became significantly more disappointing once we arrived at the fort. He simply told us to walk around and explore on our own. Meanwhile, we could clearly see other tour guides actively walking alongside their groups, explaining the history, architecture, and cultural significance of what we were seeing. Our guide remained behind. This pattern continued throughout the entire tour. There was no storytelling, no meaningful context, no engagement. At one point, we even asked him to join us, and he declined, saying he would stay in the car to keep the air conditioning running. That response was shocking. We paid for a guided experience, not a driver. To make matters worse, when he took us through the souk, he stopped to chat casually with other tour guides, leaving the three of us standing around unsure of what to do. We were essentially waiting for him to finish his conversation. It felt as though he was completely disinterested — lacking passion, knowledge, and basic engagement. This was easily the most disappointing tour experience I have ever had. The locations themselves were absolutely beautiful, but unfortunately, the guide’s lack of professionalism and effort completely diminished what should have been a memorable day. We invested a significant amount of money in this tour, expecting a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. Instead, we were left feeling frustrated and let down.
